On Thursday, members of the Memorial Health Board of Trustees and a few members of the medical staff toured the new inpatient pavilion currently under construction on the east side of the hospital facility. The three-story tower, which is part of a $50 million expansion that includes a new outpatient facility, is set to open in 2020. Above, tour participants look over parking and greenspace areas on the north side of the project. The photos below, show a new patient room at the facility. The facility will feature 36 patient rooms, with space to add another 12. The new rooms feature a new design that allows nurses and doctors to quickly check on patients from hallway windows. The rooms also feature computer terminals inside the room and near the hallway windows so medical staff can review and record patient information without transporting mobile computers with them. Each room also features a private bathroom and shower.
