The Plain City “Active Agers” Indoor Walking Program kicked off this week.
The program, which is hosted by the Plain City Parks and Recreation Department, provides adults with a safe, climate controlled environment with clean restrooms to continue walking throughout the winter.
Those who attend are invited to walk at their own pace.
“Active Agers” is hosted every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The program will continue through March 31, although Feb. 20 and March 20, 22 and 24 are “no walk” dates.
In the case school is off or canceled, walking will be canceled as well.
The indoor walking program is hosted at the Ballhouse, 327 W. Bigelow Ave. The building is located in the fenced lot directly behind the Plain City Public Library.
Plenty of parking is available.
The program is geared toward “mature folks,” according to officials from the Parks and Recreation Department, but anyone over the age of 18 may walk with the group.
No pets or children will be allowed during Active Agers.
All participants must sign a waiver before using the facility. Waivers are available on the Plain City Facebook page and will be provided on site.
Participants will only need to fill out one waiver in order to walk for the entire season.
Those who have questions or would like more information should contact Denton Kitts with the Parks and Recreation Department at (614) 873-3527, ext. 108.
