Last week, Jonathan Alder welcomed students back to the classroom for the first time since March. The official start was pushed back from a week to help prepare for the reality of school in the time of COVID-19. The district is on a hybrid learning pathway, meaning some students are at the schools in-person on Mondays and Tuesdays and learn online Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and other students attend school in-person on Thursdays and Friday and learn online Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The approach allows for smaller classrooms and busses with more room to distance. Above, fifth grade students space out on the playground for during their first day at Canaan Middle School as music teacher Justin Hennig talks about band opportunities.
