Barbara L. Poling, 76, of Marysville, died Tuesday afternoon, July 10, 2018, at Brookdale Springdale in Cincinnati, after months of failing health.
She retired from Adria Laboratories after several years of employment. A farmer’s wife, she spent many years of her life helping out on the farm. She thoroughly enjoyed horse racing and would often attend the Little Brown Jug and the Red Mile races with her husband. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching “The Today Show,” and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed watching The Ohio State University basketball games with her dear friend, Donna.
She was born March 26, 1942, in Springfield, to the late Charles C. and Luella F. Clay Long. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Doyle W. Poling, whom she married April 5, 1968, at Marysville First United Methodist Church, and who died April 6, 2008, after 40 years of marriage.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Angela Poling of Hamilton; step-daughter, Crystal D. Morgan of Marysville; grandson, Nathan W. Poling of Hamilton; step-granddaughters, Rachel Morgan of Marysville, Lyndsay Rush of Bellefontaine and Shayla (Alex) Wolf of Russells Point; sister, Joan (P. Gary) Vance of Cecelia, Kentucky; special friends, Donna Story and Hank Wischmeyer; and several extended family members.
Calling hours will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Ingram Funeral Home. The Rev. James Taylor will officiate funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery, next to her husband.
In her memory, memorial contributions may be made to the Riverside Neuroscience Center in care of the funeral home.
