Billy L. Sewell, 80, of Marysville, died Monday morning, Jan. 7, 2019, at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, after months of failing health.
He retired as a project manager at Circle Plastics in Circleville. He was a member of the BPOE #1130, Heart of Ohio and the Community and Seasoned Citizens in Marysville. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, and was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes football and basketball teams, as well as NASCAR.
He will be remembered for his wicked sense of humor and his orneriness by his family and those who knew him best. He especially enjoyed going to the Friday night home football games at Marysville High School to cheer on the Monarchs.
He was born July 28, 1938, in Marysville, to the late Cecil C. and Nora Fancey Sewell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, the former Joan K. Blackburn in 1995, three brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Billie Jo (Steve Meredith) Sewell of Marysville; granddaughter, Aurora Meredith; sister, Hazel (George) Purdum of Plain City; and special friend, Carolyn Michel of Milford Center.
The Rev. Pastor Keith Lewis will officiate a Celebration of Life service at 7 p.m. Thursday at Ingram Funeral Home.
In his memory, contributions may be made to a donor’s favorite charity in care of the funeral home.
