Charles E. “Charley” Feenstra, 67, of Marysville, died the week of March 11, 2019, at his residence.
A 1969 graduate of Marysville High School, he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from DePauw University.
He first worked as a manager with a Goodyear retail store before going to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base where he worked as a finance specialist and was instrumental in the sale of F-15’s to Egypt. He was currently working as a driver with TRC in Marysville.
He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church. In his younger years, he enjoyed boating, spending time at the lake and snow skiing.
Born April 5, 1951, he was the son of the late John and Doris (Chandler) Feenstra. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a stepfather, Dwight Story and a brother, John Robert “Bob” Feenstra.
He is survived by his brother, William C. “Bill” (Sandy) Feenstra of Marysville; a sister, Janet (Bill) Feenstra Watson of McGregor, Minnesota; niece and nephew, Tiffany (Joe) McLaughlin and Chris (Kathy) Feenstra; great nieces and nephews, Lyndsay and Erin McLaughlin and Kyleigh, Casey, Shae and Kenyon Feenstra: and an aunt, Crystle Peterson of Oregon.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 a.m.-noon Friday at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. A memorial service will follow at noon with the Rev. Jeff Schooley officiating. Burial will be held privately by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions to either First Presbyterian Church or the Union County Humane Society in memory of Charley.
