Charles R. ‘Charlie’ Hall, age 79, of Marysville, died Friday, December 22, 2023, at Prestige Garden of Marysville.
Charlie was born November 13, 1944, in Kentucky to the late Millard and Lettie Hall and graduated from Fairborn High School 1965. He married Ruthann Gansheimer on October 11, 1969, at Trinity Lutheran Church. They were married 47 years before her passing on March 2, 2017.
Charlie proudly served, for four years, in The United States Marine Corps as a mechanic working on aircraft. After an honorable discharge, Charlie worked at Nestle in Marysville; he also drove a local oil truck delivering heating oil to houses.
Charles was a member of The Goldwing Road Riders with his wife Ruthann both in Marysville and Fairborn. They enjoyed camping and riding their motorcycles throughout the United States. Two of their favorite destinations were riding the infamous Dragon’s Tail at Dill’s Gap, North Carolina known for the challenging and dangerous curves, and an eatery known as Lambert’s Café in Sikeston, Missouri.
Charles is survived by brothers, Don (Cheryl) Hall of Fairborn, Ohio, Harold (Misty) Hall of Fairborn, Ohio, Richard (Charlene) Hall of Fairborn, Ohio; sister, Joann (Harold) Williams of Bellbrook, Ohio; several nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law, Barry Gansheimer.
Charlie was preceded in death by sisters, Dorsay Hall, Judy Hall Eldridge, and Ann Hall Puckett.
Visitation will be held at Ingram Funeral Home (975 North Maple Street, Marysville) on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 12 noon until 2 pm. A funeral will follow at the funeral home. Burial will follow at a later in Oakdale Cemetery.
Donations in Charlie’s honor may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church and may be sent to the funeral home.
