D. Mike Tussing, 66, of Marysville, died early Wednesday morning, Aug. 8, 2018, at Doctors Hospital with his loving family by his side, after months of failing health.
He retired from Westreco and Nestle after 38 years as a maintenance supervisor. In his earlier years, he often dabbled in farming. He enjoyed the peace and beauty of the Marysville Reservoir and could often be found there with his wife, Judy, enjoying the serenity it offered. A dedicated husband, father and grandfather, his family was truly the most important treasure in his life.
He was born Aug. 9, 1951, in Columbus, to the late Donald H. and Marjorie E. Claggett Tussing. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert A. and David H. Tussing, nephew, Bradley Tussing and niece, Amber Tussing.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, the former Judy K. Wampler, whom he married April 1, 1974, at Unionville Methodist Church; children, Michelle (Pete) Shepherd of Marysville and Chad (Tina) Tussing of London; grandchildren, Dalton and Kailynn Tussing of the home and Ethan Shepherd; sisters-in-law, Sharon Wampler of Marysville, Phyllis (John) Butz of Plain City, Linda (Phil) Stowers of Ostrander and Jackie Tussing and Peggy Tussing, both of London; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The Rev. Bonnie Frost will officiate a Celebration of Life service at 1 p.m. Aug. 18 at Unionville Methodist Church. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at the church for a time of food and fellowship.
In his memory, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Union County Cancer Society in care of Ingram Funeral Home, which is handling the arrangements.
