Danny L. Curtis, 67, of North Lewisburg, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Memorial Gables.
With a custodial career, he was associated with Meijer in Delaware, Grady Memorial Hospital and various other businesses. A member of Grace Point Sanctuary, he enjoyed bowling, going to flea markets and fishing. He was known as an avid movie buff, and his silver screen hero was John Wayne. He especially cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
He was born on Nov. 18, 1949, in Delaware, to the late William and Grace Bowen Curtis. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Merriman Curtis; brothers, Jerry and Jimmy Curtis; and sisters, Betty Cantebury, Trish Price and Vicki Curtis.
He is survived by his children, Michael (Kandice) McCarty of Marysville, Diana (Rick) Shreve of Richwood, Tammy (John) Smith of Richwood and Nancy (Marvin) Gargus of Joplin, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Susie Price of Delaware; sisters-in-law, Ruby Curtis of Ashley and Nancy Fetty of Delaware; brother-in-law, John Merriman of Lima; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The Rev. Mike Mollett will officiate funeral services at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Underwood Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends beginning at 3 p.m. Burial will be held later at Claibourne Cemetery in Richwood.
