David F. Speicher, 65, of Russells Point died Friday, Nov. 15, 2019 at home surrounded by his family following a long struggle with dementia.
He was a 1973 graduate of Marysville High School and retired from NEX Transport.
He was a gentle giant that loved people and enjoyed Ohio State football, fishing, music, woodworking and treasured time with his family and friends.
He was born Aug. 10, 1954 in Delaware and was the fifth of 10 children of the late Leo E. and June (Neer) Speicher.
On March 20, 1973 he married Colleen Sanders, who survives in Russells Point.
He is also survived by his sons, David (Shawna) Speicher of Russells Point and Jeremy Speicher of Marysville; a daughter, Erin Sloan of Russells Point; nine grandchildren, Patience Belville, Austin Speicher, Faith Speicher, Chris Barton, Seth Speicher, Ocean Speicher, Gavin Speicher, Landin Speicher and Shaylin Speicher; one great-granddaughter, Sophia Speicher; seven brothers, Danny (Betty) Speicher of Belle Center, Burt (Lois) Speicher of Kenton, Leo (Rose) Speicher of Richwood, Victor (Virginia) Speicher of Marion, Stacy Speicher of Marysville and Troy Speicher of Marysville; two sisters, Peggy Geho of Marysville and Tina Shaw of Alabama.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Charles Speicher.
A cremation is planned with a private memorial service for family that will be held at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate his life in their own way. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you will bestow an unexpected act of kindness for someone or donate to Universal Home Health and Hospice Care.
