David L. Yoder, 55, of Plain City, died Thursday afternoon, Dec. 13, 2018, at the Kobacker House in Columbus.
A 1982 graduate of Jonathan Alder High School and Tolles Technical Center, he continued his education at Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis. He was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association and Ohio Harness Racing Association. He had a soft spot in his heart for all animals, especially horses.
He was born July 17, 1963, in Marysville, to Claribel (Stutzman) Yoder and the late Loyd Yoder, who died in 2001. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Yoder, who died in 1991.
In addition to his loving mother, he is also survived by his brothers, Mark (Debbie) Yoder and Steve (Pamela) Yoder; niece, Amy (Brandon) Payne; nephews, Bill (Heather) Yoder and Zachary (Rinnell) Yoder; great-nieces and nephews, Jordan, Taylor, Mitchell, Adalynn, Elijah and Oliver; and special buddies, Mose Troyer, Jeff Yoder, Mike Beachy and Barry May.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, at Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St. (Route 161 W.), Plain City. The Revs. Jared Chase and Nathan Yoder will officiate funeral services at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sharon Mennonite Church, 7675 Amity Pike, Plain City. They will also officiate a burial at Forest Grove Cemetery.
