Dixie Anne Campbell, 81, of Huntsville, died at 4:48 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine.
A 1954 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, she worked for 31 years as a bank teller, supervisor and assistant manager for several local banks, and she retired on June 30, 2000. She was a longtime member of Huntsville United Methodist Church, where she taught adult Sunday school classes and served as a trustee, church treasurer and chairperson of finance, and was a member of Connecting Links Women Group for many years. She also held numerous leadership positions.
She served as the clerk for McArthur Township for 14 years, treasurer of Indian Ridge Condo Association for 11 years, board member of Bellefontaine Friendly Senior Center for six years and Notary Public for more than 40 years, and was a 50-year member of O.E.S Constance Chapter #78, in DeGraff, which merged with Sarah Elizabeth Chapter #335, in West Liberty, and eventually Bellefontaine Chapter #459.
She was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and enjoyed crocheting, reading, crafting, flower gardening, baking cookies and tole painting. She especially loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as the time she spent watching them play all kinds of sports.
She was born on Aug. 12, 1936, to the late Robert Elsworth and Ruth Fraville (Jacobs) Sprankell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Clifford E. Campbell, whom she married on Nov. 22, 1975, in DeGraff, and who died Nov. 11, 2001; and son, Terry Lynn Kreglow, who died on Oct. 16, 1988.
She is survived by her first husband of 17 years, Carey F. Kreglow, who survives in DeGraff; children, Barbara Anne Kreglow and Glen (Jennifer) Kreglow, both of DeGraff; grandchildren, Kelli (Tom) Stephens, Kyle (Samantha) Kreglow and Kodey (Heidi) Kreglow; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Stephens, Hunter Kreglow, Kalin Kreglow, Samantha Stephens, Malina Kreglow, Carter Kreglow, Max Stephens, Adalyn Kreglow and Amelia Kreglow; brother, John (Anna) Sprankell; niece, Rachelle (Ken) Faith; cousin, Alice Jane (Don) Bauer; former exchange student from Chile, Jorge Gonzaliz; and many nieces, nephews and cousins of the Cliff Campbell family.
The Rev. Bryan Meadows will officiate funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Huntsville United Methodist Church, 6611 Fruit St., in Huntsville, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville. Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff is handling funeral arrangements.
