Dorothy Jean Boerger, 90, of Plain City, died peacefully Monday evening, Sept. 17, 2018, at Edgewater Place, Plain City.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was active with its choir and Ladies’ Aid. She and her husband were part of the “Fabulous Eight” card club. She was an advisor with the 4-H Darby Debs for more than 50 years and was very involved with the Plain City Fair. She was also a volunteer with Memorial Meals until her health prevented her from doing so.
She was born May 17, 1928, in Union County, to the late Alfred G. and Lydia Barbara (Bunsold) Burger. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Arthur E. Boerger, who died in 1996, and sister, Elfrieda Wolpert, who died in 2005.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Boerger, Kenny (Holly) Boerger and Pam (Bob) Girand; grandchildren, Kristen, Brandy, Nate, Adam, Stephanie, Sarah and Steven; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St. (Rt. 161 W.), Plain City. The Rev. Paul Schlueter will officiate a funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 7960 Rt. 38, Milford Center. Burial will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Ladies’ Aid.
