Elizabeth Ann “Beth” Bishop Brown, age 82, of Marysville, died Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
A cosmetologist, Beth retired from Riverside Beauty Salon in Upper Arlington where she was a hairdresser and managed the shop. Her career spanned 52 years. A 1960 graduate of Union Local High School, she received her associate degree from The Ohio State School of Cosmetology. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.
Beth’s hobbies included gardening, horses, enjoying the outdoors and cherishing time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was born January 12, 1942 in Delaware, Ohio to the late Robert J.W. and Marie M. Boerger Bishop. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law , Ruth and Ted Neas, her brother, John Bishop and brothers-in-law, Phil Hall and Dwight Thompson, a brother-and sister-in-law, Donald and Janeene Brown.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Marvin Brown, whom she married August 18, 1962 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chuckery; two sons, Michael D. (Lisa) Brown and Jeffrey W. (Candy) Brown, both of Marysville; her grandchildren Matthew (Michelle) Brown, Jessica (Zach) Blankenship, Blaine Brown and Logan (Joe) Robinson; a great-grandson, Myles; a great-granddaughter, Montana; her sisters, Miriam Staten of Marysville, Barbara (Bob) Sellers of London, Mary Salyers of Marysville and Jeanne Thompson of Marysville; her brother Gerald Bishop of Milford Center; sisters-in-law, Kay Bishop and Sharon Hall; brother-in-law, Richard (Lois) Brown; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Underwood Funeral Home where a funeral procession will form at 12:30 p.m. and proceed to St. John’s Lutheran Church for a 1 p.m. funeral service. Rev. Jacob D. Heino will officiate and burial will be at the church cemetery.
