Elmer Stafford Coleman, age 89, of Marysville, died peacefully Friday, February 2, 2024 at his home with his family by his side.
He was a retired printer from Columbus Coated Fabrics where he worked for 43 years.
A veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Korean War at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Of the Baptist faith, he was born and raised in Martin County, Kentucky. He loved gardening and fishing, but especially enjoyed being with his family and friends.
He was born July 16, 1934 in Lovely, Kentucky to the late Jess and Sadie Romans Coleman. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Lucille Fields Coleman; and four brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Connie (Lee) Froehlich of Marysville; five grandchildren, Jeremy (Jasmine) Froehlich, Tonya Froehlich, Jacob (Kara) Froehlich, James (Tilbi) Froehlich and Valerie (Rob) Murray; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters; and many in-laws and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor Frank Carl will officiate and burial will be beside his wife at Mt. Herman Cemetery in Dover Township where military honors will be conducted by the Union County Military Funeral Honor Guard.
