Frances A.B. Kleiber-Anderson, 96, of Marysville, died Thursday, May 3, 2018, at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She graduated from Union Rural High School in Milford Center in 1940. A woman of deep faith, she was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where she was baptized and confirmed.
A homemaker, she tended the family farm alongside her husband, Ernest Kleiber. Blessed with the special talent of embroidery, her beautiful work could be seen in her handmade quilts. She also enjoyed reading, but her greatest joy was her family, especially her daughters and the bond they shared. Playing games with her grandchildren could always bring a smile to her face.
She was born March 10, 1922, in Union County, to the late Ernest and Elizabeth (Nicol) Nicol. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Kleiber, whom she married at St. John’s Lutheran Church April 9, 1944, and who died March 10, 1986; second husband, Jim Anderson, whom she married May 2, 1992, and who died in 2008; sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Clarence Vollrath; and brother, Herb Nicol.
She is survived by her daughters, Judith (William) Morris of Marysville, Kathy (Steve) Kleiber-Bumgarner of Plain City and Linda (Hans) Barthmus of Harrisonburg, Virginia; step-daughters, Carol (Bob) Whitman and Judy Anderson; grandchildren, Lisa (Tom) Costa, Jim Barthmus, Lora (Chris) Nalberczinski, Jon (Miranda) Barthmus, Jennifer (Matt) Smith, Julie (the Rev. Paul) Schlueter, Scott (Amanda Cron) Gingerich and Jason Gingerich; step-grandchildren, Bob (April) Whitman and Nancy (Bruce) Histed; great-grandchildren, Jack, Max, Adam and Katie Costa, Emmett and Addison Nalberczinski, Hans Barthmus II, Mitchell and Branden Smith, Anna, William and Victoria Frances Schlueter and Damon Gingerich; step-great-grandchildren, Colton and Ayla Whitman and Matthew, Craig, Scott and Noah Histed; sister-in-law, Lois Nicol; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and church family.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. The Revs. Jacob D. Heino and Paul Schlueter will officiate funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery next to her husband, Ernest Kleiber.
