Gary Lee Cormany, 79, formerly of Marysville and Leesburg, Florida, died Tuesday, May 28, 2019, in Willow Brook at Delaware Crossing.
He was a graduate of Waverly High School and the University of Tennessee where he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
He lived in Marysville on multiple occasions and moved often as part of his work with the Goodyear Company.
He was a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church in Leesburg, Florida. He was an avid football fan, and liked to play golf and go to the casino with his family.
He was born October 24, 1939, in Akron, to the late Lee Eugene Cormany and Mildred Pauline (Tharp) Cormany.
On August 20, 1960, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Jones (Fish) Cormany, who preceded him in death March 18, 2015.
He is survived by his children, Jill (Clark) Wade of Westerville, Kristen (Greg) Boyer of Waverly, Jennifer (David) Slessman and Amanda (Craig) Pitts of Nashville, and Daniel Cormany of Beaver; 15 grandchildren, Melanie (Chad) Stickrath, Allison (Ian) Jackson, Vanessa Wade, Derek (Courtney) Boyer, Landon Boyer, Hailey Boyer, Cole Nathan, Brooke (Tyler) Dreher, Zachary Slessman, Meredith Slessman, Lauren Cooper, Carter Pitts, Megan Pitts, Logan Cormany and Ashton Cormany; seven great-grandchildren, Maren, Grant and Zane Stickrath, Vitoria and Marlowe Jackson, and Lincoln and Hudson Boyer; a brother, Wade (Mary Alice) Cormany of Delaware; and a sister, Mary Ellen Cormany of Waverly.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019, at the Boyer Funeral Home, 125 W. Second ST., Waverly, with Pastor Julie Evans, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery in Waverly.
Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home from noon until the time of the service on Saturday.
