Helen L. Scheiderer, 88, of Marysville, died Thursday morning, Dec. 27, 2018, at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, following a brief illness of one year.
A person of deep faith, she was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and the St. John’s Friendship Committee. In her leisure time, she was an avid quilter and, along with her husband, Gene, volunteered with the Memorial Hospital Mobile Meals program.
Family life was important to her. She cherished the time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren, and the many family trips they shared with one another.
She was born Dec. 29, 1929, to the late Christopher and Eleanor Kleiber Nicol at the family home near Milford Center. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Sue Scheiderer; brother, Ralph Nicol; brother and sister-in-law, Pearl and Lucia Nicol; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Louis Burns; sister-in-law, Marilyn Nicol; and in-laws, Robert and Beatrice Scheiderer, Roland and Paula Scheiderer and Lloyd Rausch.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Eugene A. Scheiderer, whom she married June 10, 1950; children, Dave (Zita) Scheiderer of Milford Center, Cheryl (Ron) Leeds of Milford Center, Dennis (Theresa) Scheiderer of Richwood, Gary (Carol) Scheiderer of Irwin and Brian (Melissa) Scheiderer of Kalamazoo, Michigan; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, the Rev. Lloyd Nicol of Milford Center; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Rausch of Marysville and Emma Nicol of Milford Center; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Ingram Funeral Home. The Rev. Jacob Heino will officiate funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
