Joan Fancey Robertson, age 92, of Plain City, Ohio died following a short illness, on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Memorial Hospital with her daughters by her side.
Born and raised in Marysville, Ohio where she lived most of her life, Joan resided in Plain City the past ten years with her daughter, Karen.
She retired in 1994 from Milcrest Nursing Home after 30 years where she was supervisor of the laundry. She was a former longtime member of the Marysville Evangelical Friends Church.
Joan was a member of the Hannah Emerson Dustin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and loved fishing, gardening, telling stories, and reading.
She was born July 16, 1931 in Marysville, Ohio to the late Omer James and Hazel Louise Wood Fancey. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by an infant daughter, JoAnne Elaine Robertson; her brother-and sister-in-law, Harold Eugene and Irma Jean Fancey; her sister-and brother-in-law, Evelyn May and Herbert Burger; and her former husband, Samuel Max Robertson, whom she married May 23, 1955 in Angola, Indiana.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Beverly Elaine Robertson of Hewitt, New Jersey and Karen Gale (Dave Miller) Walls of Plain City; her grandson, David (Lisa) Moore of Plain City; her nephews, Charles Fancey of China, Texas and Dan (Gretchen) Fancey of Marysville; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville.
