Lynn Susan Smith, 73, of Columbus died peacefully Wednesday January 10th, 2024 at The Studios at Westminster Thurber with her loving husband by her side. Lynn was a 1968 graduate of Fairbanks High School. She received an Associate degree in computer programming from Columbus Technical Institute in 1986 and BS degree in Business Administration (magna cum laude) from Ohio State University in 1993. She was a recipient of an Ohio State College of Business Pacesetters Award for distinguished achievement in 1993. Active in her Ohio Living community, she was involved with drumming circle, current events group, sewing and knitting group, coloring group and the Spiritual Life Committee. In previous years she had volunteered at the Ohio School for the Blind, the Dominican Learning Center as a tutor for English second language, at the OSU Medical Center as liaison volunteer on the medical intensive care unit, Lifeline of Ohio and holiday Meals-on-Wheels. Lynn loved animals, both growing up on a farm near Marysville and spending time with her beloved cats. A member of Immaculate Conception Church in Clintonville, she enjoyed helping out with such things as the funeral meals committee, the sewing group, church cleaning and votive candles. She enjoyed spending time with others. She loved being with her friends and family and will be greatly missed by them. Lynn was born April 26, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio to Harold and Doris Rausch. She married Jerry Smith on April 27, 1974 in Columbus, Ohio. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years; nephews Christopher (Emily) Earl, and Matthew (Kristy) Earl; nieces Emily (Erik) Anderson and Colleen (Cameron) Foster; sisters-in-law Pamela True and Mary Rausch; brothers-in-law Paul Smith and Dennis Earl and many great nieces and great nephews. She is also survived by her loving extended family, and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Doris Rausch as well as her brother Lyle Rausch and sister Gayle Earl.
