Marilynn J. Christian, 89, of Marysville, passed away Wednesday morning, December 13, 2023, at Heritage Senior Living after months of failing health.
One of seven children, Marilynn was born November 21, 1934, in East Saint Louis, Missouri, to the late Eugene and Alma G. (Muehlhausen) Eaton. A graduate of Hamilton Township High School, she spent her career working as a key punch operator, and eventually supervisor for Motorist Mutual Insurance. She married her beloved husband, William K. “Bill” Christian on November 26, 1954, at the Benfield Ave. Church of Christ in Columbus. They shared 66 years of love, family, and devotion before his passing on September 11, 2021.
Marilynn was a true character, and her cackling laughter was infectious. While she and her husband, Bill, would travel in retirement years for his Air Force Reunions, home was really the center of Marilynn’s heart. She loved her children and her grandchildren dearly and loved spending as much time with them as she could. She also enjoyed watching old western tv shows and movies.
She is survived by her children, James M. “Mike” (Mary) Christian of Marysville, Karen Shumake of Texas; son-in-law Arnold Hassell of Texas; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters Shirley (John) Feucht and Elsie Groves; a sister-in-law Gail Crabtree; and many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends that she and Bill made through the years.
Along with her parents and her husband, Bill, Marilynn was also preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Terri Hassell; and siblings Edwin, Clyde, Doris, and June.
Funeral services will be held 12 pm Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Ingram Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville, with Rev. James Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery next to her husband, Bill. Friends may call 1 hour prior to service time, beginning at 11 am, at the funeral home.
Ingram Funeral Home is honored to serve Marilynn’s family, and condolences may be expressed to them at www.IngramFuneralService.com.
