Mark P. Elling, 50, of Marysville, died unexpectedly of a venous stroke on Friday, June 16, 2017, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
A 1985 graduate of Continental High School, he earned his associate’s degree in business administration from the University of Northwestern Ohio in 1987. He worked as a production assistant at Honda Marysville.
An avid animal enthusiast, especially of horses and dogs, he enjoyed spending time outdoors hiking, fishing, camping, kayaking, bicycling, target shooting and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed restoring vintage Honda motorcycles.
He was born on Dec. 27, 1966, in Napoleon, to Karen Marie (Bostelman) Johnston, who died on July 12, 2017, in Florida. He was preceded in death by his brother, Matthew, and his grandparents, Paul and Luella Bostelman.
He is survived by his daughter, Madelyn Elling of Brookville; former wife, Kim Elling of Brookville; stepfather, Mike Johnston of Summerland, Florida; brother, Chad Elling; and nephew, Matthew Jaxson Elling, both of Louisville, Kentucky.
The Rev. Therese Lehman will officiate a Celebration of Life service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
