Marlea Sue Tatman, 69, of Woodstock, died Friday, May 4, 2018, at her residence after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family.
A wonderful homemaker, she enjoyed playing cards and bingo, going to yard sales and thrift stores and dancing. Her true passion was to be outside in the yard enjoying the flowers. Of the Baptist faith, her family was her pride and joy.
She was born June 16, 1948, in Columbus, to the late Calvin C. and Alberta H. (Shurte) Knox. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death be her husband, Roy E. Tatman, whom she married June 15, 1973, and who died April 19, 2000; sisters, Annabelle Stokes, Rosie Fox, Mildred Knox, Marliyn Moore, Wanda Arthur and Linda Legge; and brothers, Tommy, Calvin Jr., Billy, Jimmy, Johnny, Russell, Donald and Ronnie Knox.
She is survived by her children, Shannon Tatman of Woodstock, Shawnia (Stacy Hammond) Tatman of Woodstock and Sara Green, Tiffany Huff and Mike McConaughey of Lovell, Wyoming; companion, Bubba Griffin; grandchildren, Tharon Hammond, Kyuss (Davina) Hammond and Erica Picklesimon; sister, Lea (Steve) Boyer of North Lewisburg; sisters-in-law, Mozelle Sands of Richwood, Eva Fraley and Nellie Tatman; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Ruth Tatman; aunt, Cosette Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel, where the Rev. Wandell Toney will officiate funeral services at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will follow at Union Township Cemetery in Milford Center.
Memorial contributions can be made to the grandchildren’s educational fund in care of the funeral home.
