Nancy J. Alexander, 63, of Marysville died Tuesday afternoon, February 2 at OSU Hospitals in Columbus following a few years of failing health.
She was a 1975 graduate of Fairbanks High School and a graduate of Miami of Ohio University. In 1986 she received her LPN degree from Ohio Hi Point School of Nursing. She was employed at Heartland Nursing Home for over 30 years and then was employed at Bluebird of Marysville until her health failed.
Nancy was all things to all people. She will be remembered as someone who cared deeply for people, especially her children and grandchildren. She cherished the times she attended her grandchildren’s sporting events and enjoyed being a “Biker Babe” when she and Scott rode his Harley for a poker run or just for pleasure.
Her family background was rooted in firefighting, as her father was the Fire Chief at Union Township and brother was a volunteer firefighter there. She enjoyed all types of firefighting memorabilia.
She was a very versatile musician who enjoyed playing the piano.
She was born May 27, 1957 in Marysville to the late Deurelle L. “Gabe” Gabriel Jr. and E. Maxine Daum Gabriel. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Kevin L. Gabriel.
She married Scott Alexander on Aug. 24, 2013.
She is survived by her husband of almost 8 years, Scott; children, Shannon E. (DJ) Adams of Marysville, Carl D. Cremeans of Richwood, Samuel J. (Amie) Cremeans, Zachary S. (Starla) Alexander, Julianna “Verne” Cremeans and Azia L. Alexander, all of Marysville; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Joseph M. Gabriel of Marysville, Julia D. (Leslie) Robertson of Perrysburg and Marianna C. “Molly” (Bart) Williams of Dyersburg, Tennessee; and a sister-in-law, Beth A. Gabriel of Marysville.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the Ingram Funeral Home.
The family wishes everyone that comes to pay their respects be safe, as strict COVID-19 precautions will be observed during the hours.
