Ola P. Sutherly, 80, of Richwood, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She retired from Memorial Hospital of Union County, where she worked in the cafeteria for 25 years. She formerly attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Broadway.
She enjoyed reading her Bible, talking and visiting with friends, watching NASCAR races on TV and listening to country music. Most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family.
She was born in Peoria to the late Forrest Lockwood and Mary Martin. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jacob, Blaine and John Lockwood.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jack Sutherly, whom she married on Oct. 18, 1959, in Dublin, and who lives in Richwood; children, Mark Eldon (Debbie Covrett) Sutherly of Richwood and Carol Burbaugh of Ormond Beach, Florida; sister, Mary Kesterson of Marysville; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
The Rev. Jeremy Stout will officiate funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Burial will follow at Broadway Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Loving Care Hospice in care of the funeral home.
