Rebecca J. “Jane” Lowe, 87, of Marysville, died Friday afternoon, May 31, 2019, at Memorial Gables surrounded by her loving family following an extended illness.
She was retired from Marysville Exempted Schools as a bus driver, having worked in the district for 26 years. After she retired, she was a crossing guard and worked for MRDD for three years. She was a member of the Millcreek Church of Christ.
She and her husband, Dick, raised three children on a dairy farm in Liberty Township. She was known as “Cookie Grandma” by grandchildren and great-grandchildren because of her love for cookie baking.
She was born Nov. 13, 1931, in Marysville to the late Foster and Grace Anderson Watts. She married Richard “Dick” Lowe June 25, 1949, in Greenup, Kentucky. He preceded her in death Oct. 10, 2011.
She was also preceded in death by a son David, a sister, Peggy Joan Switzer, and three brothers, Richard, Charles and John Watts.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Cowgill and Jim Lowe, both of Marysville; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 11-1 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jack Knox officiating. Burial will follow at Raymond Cemetery
