Russell H. Scheiderer, 75, of Marysville died Sunday morning, Aug. 11, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness.
He was a lifelong farmer and a school bus driver for Fairbanks High School for several years. He was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. He also enjoyed singing with the local “Singsations” choir. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife and their grandchildren.
He was born Sept. 18, 1943 in Marysville to the late Elmer and Frances Streng Scheiderer. He married the former Nancy E. Herron Feb. 8, 1964 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy; their sons Keith (Candi) Scheiderer and Todd (Kim) Scheiderer, both of Marysville; grandchildren Callie (Michael) Tackett, Ellen (Troy) Stafford, Patrick (Liz) Scheiderer, Paige Scheiderer, Curtis Scheiderer, Lilian (Garrett) Hutchins, Charlie Scheiderer and Nora Scheiderer; great-grandchildren Liam, Gideon and Silas; and siblings Dan (Cheryl) Scheiderer and Lola (George) Harbold.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ingram Funeral Home with the Rev. Jacob Heino officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery with his grandsons as pallbearers.
In his memory, contributions may be made to Loving Care Hospice or the Union County Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
