Ruth A. Crabbe, 76, of Marysville, died Friday afternoon, Dec. 28, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family, after months of failing health.
A woman of faith, she attended Pharisburg United Methodist Church when her health allowed, and was a former member of the Eastern Star. She was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed The Ohio State University Buckeyes.
She loved her family, and enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends on cruises to destinations such as Hawaii, Alaska and Europe. She enjoyed going to all of her grandchildren’s sporting events and all of their family gatherings. During her three-year battle with cancer, she remained strong and steadfast each step of the way. She will be greatly missed by her family.
She was born Jan. 13, 1942, in Ironton, to the late Leroy Wilbur and Fannie Alice Silveous Bucklew. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Mills, four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, John Crabbe, whom she married Dec. 22, 1984, at Pottersburg Methodist Church; children, Brian (Pam) Williams, Juanita Jackson, Paula (Jim McComas) Stowers and Doug Williams, all of Marysville; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three brothers; and one sister.
Calling hours will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ingram Funeral Home. The Rev. Denise Turpin will officiate funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
In her memory, contributions may be made to the Union County Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
