Sally Sue Rose, 72, of Plain City, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was a 1964 graduate of Columbus South High School. She drove a school bus for the Jonathan Alder School District for more than 36 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Unionville Center and Elizabeth Chapter of Eastern Star. She served as an advisor for Rainbows, Job’s Daughters and DeMolay. She was a very active member of the Miami Valley Steam Threshers.
She was born Jan. 21, 1946, in Columbus, to the late Howard and Doris (Davy) Schafer. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Schafer.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, George D. Rose, whom she married Jan. 21, 1965; children, Susan (Robin) Rausch, Timothy Rose, Cathy (Mike) Seitz, Doris (Nick) Kaufman and Eleanor (Tony) Obert; grandchildren, Alyssa, Michael, Josh, Zachary, Jeffrey, Hannah, Olivia, Noah, Katelyn and Emma; brothers, Tommy (Debbie) Schafer and Jack (Nancy) Schafer; sister-in-law, Sheila Schafer; and numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St. (Route 161 W.), Plain City. The Rev. Bonnie Frost will officiate funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Waterloo Cemetery.
