According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An anonymous caller reported to the police department at 8:10 p.m. Feb. 1 that people in the area of W. Main Street were revving their engines and yelling. Upon arrival, officers searched the area and were not able to locate any individuals engaging in the reported activities.
Police responded to the scene of a non-injury crash on Plain City-Georgesville Road at 4:40 p.m. Feb. 1. Reports indicate the vehicle driver stated that a black vehicle in front of his vehicle put his left turn signal on late and slammed on his brakes. The vehicle driver attempted not to hit the vehicle in front of him and swerved toward the tree line. Madison County was on a Level One Snow Advisory during the time and the road conditions were “very slick” where the accident occurred.
Police responded to a report of littering on W. Main Street at 3:22 p.m. Feb. 1. The complainant called to report a neighbor dumping snow on her property. The neighbor advised that he would remove the snow from the complainant’s property. The officer attempted to make contact with the complainant to relay the information but was unable to reach her.
An officer was requested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol at 1:24 p.m. Feb. 1 to assist with the pursuit of a stolen vehicle on U.S. 42 south.
An officer was dispatched to W. Main Street at 10:13 a.m. Feb. 1 in reference to someone hacking into the caller’s phone. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the caller and determined that no one had hacked into the person’s phone.
Police responded to an alarm drop on Converse Avenue at 2:41 a.m. Feb. 1.
Police responded to an open door on S. Jefferson Avenue at 12:02 a.m. Feb. 1.
An officer was dispatched to North Avenue at 2:01 a.m. Jan. 31 in reference to a noise complaint. The caller advised that the apartment above his apartment was vacuuming at the time, which was keeping the complainant awake. The officer then contacted the suspect, who confirmed she was vacuuming because she spilled something and wanted to clean it up. The suspect was advised to keep the noise down.
An officer was dispatched to West Main Street in reference to an intoxicated male at 2:09 a.m. Jan. 31. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the caller, who stated that the subject wanted to drive home but the caller did not believe the suspect should due to his intoxication level. After speaking with the suspect, it was apparent that he was highly intoxicated and it was unsafe for him to drive home. During the officer’s interaction, the suspect was warned for disorderly conduct. A short time later, a friend arrived on scene and provided the suspect with a ride back to his residence.
An officer conducted a traffic stop on North Avenue at 11:14 a.m. Jan. 31 after he observed Tabitha Smith driving a maroon Subaru Legacy southbound in the area. The officer had previous knowledge that Smith had a suspended driver’s license. She was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license and driving under financial responsibility suspension. Her vehicle was towed to the police department’s impound lot and Smith was advised of her court date.
Police responded to an alarm drop on Center Street at 5:53 p.m. Jan. 31.
Officers observed a suspicious vehicle on East Main Street at 8:47 p.m. Jan. 30. Officers checked the scene and determined everything to be O.K.
Officers were dispatched to North Avenue at 10:12 p.m. Jan. 30 in reference to a domestic dispute.
Officers responded to Plain City-Georgesville Road at 11 p.m. Jan. 30 at the request of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a possible burglary in progress.
Police responded to an open door on South Jefferson Avenue at 12:09 a.m. Jan. 29.
An officer was dispatched to South Jefferson Avenue at 11:04 a.m. Jan. 29 in reference to two recovered wallets. The officer was able to make contact with both wallet owners to advise them to come to the police department to pick up their belongings. One wallet owner stopped by to pick up his items while the other individual advised that his daughter would stop by to retrieve his wallet.
An officer was dispatched to Smucker Lane at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 29 in reference to a parking complaint. The caller advised a white Chevrolet was parked in a no parking zone in front of the listed location. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the owner, who advised she was moving out of the listed location and was currently packing her vehicle. The vehicle owner stated that she would move the vehicle and only park in that spot if she was moving heavy objects.
Officers responded to Plain City Elementary School at 3:43 p.m. Jan. 29 for the report of identity theft. The complainant advised that she had received an unemployment W-2 form several days earlier but she had not filed for unemployment benefits. The complainant advised officers that she requested to flag her checking account for fraudulent activity and had informed the Department of Jobs and Family Services of the W-2 form. The officers also advised her to contact the Attorney General’s Office. The officers also took photos of the documents.
An officer was dispatched to Fanshell Drive at 12:50 a.m. Jan. 28 for a 911 follow-up.
An officer was contacted via public service at 2:20 p.m. Jan. 28 by a complainant who stated that she had received a phone call requesting her social security number and bank information. The complainant stated that she told the male her bank name and how much money she had in her account, but did not give him any additional information. The officer advised the complainant to report the incident to her bank and monitor her accounts for any suspicious activity. The officer also advised the complainant to contact the police department if she receives any additional phone calls and advise the subject to contact PCPD if he needed to reach her in the future.
Officers responded to an open door on North Chillicothe Street at 11:24 p.m. Jan. 27.
Officers were requested to assist the Madison County Sheriff’s Office with a domestic dispute on Smith-Calhoun Road at 7:28 p.m. Jan. 27.
An officer was contacted by the Renton Police Department at noon Jan. 27 regarding an investigation he was conducting. The RPD officer requested that PCPD conduct an interview with his subject.
An officer observed the driver’s side front door open on a 2021 Chevrolet Blazer parked in a driveway on Harrington Drive at 1:13 a.m. Jan. 27.
Police responded to an open door at Sweet Dreams Salt Therapy on West Main Street at 12:12 a.m. Jan. 27.
An officer was contacted via telephone at 10 a.m. Jan. 26 by an anonymous caller who requested a well-being check. The caller was concerned for the safety of an individual.
While conducting a community contact at Marathon on West Main Street at 7:15 p.m. Jan. 26, a subject advised the officer that someone turned in a Huntington Bank debit card and one Costco card.
An officer received a call from a complainant at 9:02 p.m. Jan. 26 advising that she was concerned that another individual was trying to harm himself. After further investigation, the officer made contact with the Beavercreek Police Department and requested they check on the subject. The officer received a call from BPD and learned that the subject was voluntarily transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Officers spoke with a complainant via public service at 9:30 p.m. Jan. 26 regarding a civil dispute. The complainant advised that he wanted officers to make contact with another individual to ensure that both parties would remain civil. Soon thereafter, the officer spoke with the subject, who stated that she was confronting the complainant about money she had given him for a tattoo. The subject advised that she would remain cordial moving forward and may be contacting the police department about a potential theft of services.
Officers responded to an open door on North Chillicothe Street at 12:13 a.m. Jan. 25.
Officers were dispatched to Country Place Lane at 1:05 p.m. Jan. 25 in reference to a mental health episode. Officers were able to convince the subject to be transported to the hospital by a medic.
Officers responded to The Ball House on West Bigelow Avenue at 4:40 p.m. Jan. 25 in reference to a parking complaint. Upon arrival, the vehicle owner approached officers and advised that he was going to move the vehicle once he got off work.
Officers responded to a trespassing complaint at the Plain City Public Library at 6 p.m. Jan. 25. Officers advised the subject she could be charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct if she does not leave the property when asked. The subject left the property.
A complainant contacted the police department at 8:55 p.m. Jan. 25 in reference to a well-being check. Officers made contact with the subject’s daughter, who stated that her father is in the hospital in stable condition. The officer advised the complainant of the subject’s whereabouts.
Officers responded to Maple Court at 9:27 p.m. Jan. 25 to conduct a well-being check.
