According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer was dispatched to a non-injury hit-skip crash at McDonald’s on South Jefferson Avenue, on private property, that caused minor damage to a vehicle at 8:47 a.m. March 7. A short time later, the other driver was contacted and the parties exchanged information.
An officer was requested to assist the Madison County Sheriff’s Office on a driving complaint on U.S. 42 at 1:14 a.m. March 7.
An officer responded to an alarm drop at Steadfast Performance Training on Gay Street at 11:45 a.m. March 6.
Officers responded to a Wesley Avenue home for a domestic complaint at 6:34 p.m. March 6. Upon further investigation by officers, James Lemaster, 36, of Plain City was charged with domestic violence, criminal damaging, disorderly conduct and menacing. Lemaster was arrested and transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
An officer responded to a parking complaint on East Bigelow Avenue at 9:02 p.m. March 6. Contact was made with the driver, who advised he was in the area working.
During a traffic stop on East Main Street at 1:39 a.m. March 5, officers arrested Tessa Seagraves, 19, of Hilliard for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, OVI prohibited concentration, expired tags, no operator’s license and license forfeiture suspension. She was also charged with drug paraphernalia and marijuana paraphernalia. She was later released to a family member.
An officer responded to a complaint of a found dog on East Main Street at 10:36 a.m. March 5. The dog was returned to its owner and the owner was warned of possible consequences if the dog was lost again.
An officer responded to a report of a found cell phone at Plain City Elementary School on South Chillicothe Street at 2:25 p.m. March 5. It was later returned to its owner.
An officer responded to a found credit card at Shell/Plain City Village Mart on South Jefferson Avenue at 2:40 p.m. March 5. The bank was advised and stated they would contact the cardholder.
An officer was dispatched to West Main Street at 5:09 p.m. March 5 for a suspicious person. After further investigation, the subject was returning property that had blown away from the location. Officers determined everything to be fine.
An officer found a door unsecure at the Plain City Aquatic Center on West Second Avenue at 6:59 p.m. March 5. The officer checked the building and nothing was out of the ordinary. The Public Works department was notified and the door was secured.
An officer responded to a parking complaint on Bluestem Lane at 11:20 p.m. March 5. The vehicles were moved a short time later.
An officer found a door unsecure at St. Joseph’s Rec Center on West Main Street at 11:53 p.m. March 4. People were inside the people. A keyholder advised the officer that people were cleaning the building and everything was fine.
Officers were dispatched to South Chillicothe Street at midnight March 3 in reference to a possible domestic dispute. The parties agreed to separate for the evening.
An officer was requested by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office to assist with an alarm drop at Holmes Lumber on Route 161 at 3:26 a.m. March 3.
Officers were dispatched to the NAPA on Village Boulevard at 4:08 p.m. March 3 in reference to a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, the officers confirmed the vehicle was empty and stood by until Pleasant Valley Fire District arrived on scene and extinguished the fire without further incident.
During a traffic stop on South Chillicothe Street at 6:53 p.m. March 3, officers arrested Dirk Speakman, 45, of Plain City for a protection order violation. He was also charged with possession of marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia and one headlight and was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
An officer responded to a parking complaint on North Avenue at 8:48 p.m. March. 3. The vehicle was moved a short time later.
An officer initiated a traffic stop on East Main Street at 9:02 p.m. March 3 and subsequently requested a K9 unit, who arrived a short time later. K9 Andor gave a positive alert. No contraband was located, but the occupant advised that there had been medical marijuana in the vehicle recently. She had a medical marijuana card.
An officer found a door open at the Good Life Thrift Store Donation Center on Perry Pike at 11:30 p.m. March 3. The officer checked the interior of the building and nothing was out of the ordinary. The door was closed but could not be secured.
An officer found a door unsecure at Jim’s Diner on West Main Street at 11:34 p.m. March 3. The officer checked the building and found nothing out of the ordinary. A note was left and the door was secured.
An officer was dispatched to Shepper Avenue at 8:48 p.m. March 2 in reference to a 911 follow-up. Contact was made with the caller, who advised it was accidental.
An officer found the front door of a vacant building on West Main Street unsecure at 2 a.m. March 1. The officer checked the building and didn’t observe anything out of the ordinary. The door was secured and a note was left.

An officer found the front door of New Life Baptist Church on West Main Street unsecure at 2:56 a.m. March 1. The officer checked the building and did not find anything out of the ordinary. The door was secured and a note was left.
An officer responded to Bradford Xteriors on West Main Street at 9:58 a.m. March 1 in reference to a social media harassment complaint. The caller advised that someone out of the country was sending several messaged to the business and leaving negative reviews on Google in an attempt to extort money from the company for removal of the review. An incident report was taken.
An officer responded to North Chillicothe Street at 11:07 p.m. March 1 in reference to a well-being check. After speaking to the individual, who advised they were fine, the officer deemed everything to be OK.
An officer found a door unsecured at She Stages Columbus on North Chillicothe Street at 11:32 p.m. March 1. The door was secured and a note was left.
An officer found the exterior doors of The Grainery on West Main Street unsecured at 1:31 a.m. Feb. 28. The officer completed a check of the interior and nothing was out of the ordinary. The doors were secured and a note was left.
An officer responded to NAPA on Village Boulevard at 3:35 a.m. Feb. 28 in reference to an alarm drop. All entrances were secured and nothing was out of the ordinary. A keyholder was contacted.
An officer was dispatched to the Dollar General on South Jefferson Avenue at 7:21 a.m. Feb. 28 in reference to an alarm drop. An employee advised it was accidental and everything was fine.
An officer responded to Ferguson’s Funeral Home on East Main Street at 1:56 p.m. Feb. 28 in reference to a suspicious circumstance regarding a message received. An investigation is ongoing.
An officer responded to the area of Center Street and South Chillicothe Street at 2:10 p.m. Feb. 28 in reference to possible wires down. Upon arrival, the officer learned crews were in the area working and would be there for several days.
An officer completed a traffic stop on East Main Street at 6:14 p.m. Feb. 28 for several violations. After further investigation, Kenneth Cruz of Columbus was issued citations for expired tags, fictitious plates, license forfeiture, no driver’s license, and charged with possession of a controlled substance. The vehicle was towed to the PCPD impound lot.
An officer responded to a possible trespassing complaint on North Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Feb. 28. The caller advised a subject had been staying at the listed location and was asked to leave and remove his property, but had not. The officer contacted the subject and notified him he needed to remove his property.
An officer observed a gate open and a white Chevrolet Silverado parked on the property of Frontier Communications on East Main Street at 11:45 p.m. Feb. 28. Everything was found to be secure. A keyholder was contacted and advised the officer everything was OK.
