According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer responded to a report of a disgruntled former employee at Cohesion Paper Product, LLC on South Jefferson Avenue at 5:05 a.m. April 11. The employer wanted the employee trespassed from the property. The officer contacted the subject and verbally trespassed him from the property.
An officer responded to a parking complaint on Cooper Lane at 9:07 a.m. April 11. The owner was contacted and moved the vehicle without incident.
An officer responded to a theft complaint on Country Place Lane in which the caller bought gift cards to satisfy an alleged obligation with a utility company at 12:32 p.m. April 11. He also provided bank account information to the scammer. A report was taken and the individual was instructed to contact his bank regarding his account numbers.
Officers responded to a complaint of an injured raccoon on Surrey Court at 11:07 a.m. April 10.
Officers responded to an open door at the Plain City Historical Society on West Main Street at 1:56 p.m. April 10. The officer checked the interior and nothing was out of the ordinary. Keyholders were attempted to be notified, but contact could not be made. The door was secured and a note was left.
An officer responded to a possible burglary in progress on Maple Street at 7:45 p.m. April 10. The caller stated she heard noises inside after returning home. Officers searched the interior and did not find anything out of the ordinary.
An officer responded to a request for a civil standby on Church Street at 8:29 p.m. April 10.
An officer was dispatched to Plain City Elementary School on South Chillicothe Street at 10:27 a.m. April 9 in reference to a found credit card and driver’s license. The officer took possession of the items, contact was made with the owner and the items were returned.
An officer responded to the area of Wellsley Way and Murlay Drive at 12:29 p.m. April for a report of a suspicious person. The officer canvassed the area but was not able to locate anyone matching the description that was given.
Officers were notified of a confirmed arrest warrant out of the London Police Department for Michael Milington II, 36, of Plain City, at 1:01 p.m. April 9. Contact was made with Milington and he was placed into custody and transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail without incident.
Officers responded to a possible protection order violation at 1:01 p.m. April 9. After further investigation, it appeared that no violation occurred.
Officers responded to a structure fire at Bindery and Pressworks on West Bigelow Avenue at 2:09 p.m. April 9. Officers were requested to close West Bigelow Avenue between Friend Street and West Main Street. Once officers were no longer needed and the roads were reopened, the officers returned to patrol.
An officer responded to a fire hydrant leak on Spaulding Avenue at 4:47 p.m. April 9. The officer contacted the Public Works Department and a crew arrived on scene to fix the leak.
Officers responded to a report of noises inside and outside a residence on Gay Street at 12:35 a.m. April 8. Officers searched outside and inside the residence and found nothing out of the ordinary.
An officer responded to a 911 follow-up at Plain City Elementary School on South Chillicothe Street at 11:21 a.m. April 8. The officer was advised that everything was fine. He checked the building and did not find anything out of the ordinary.
Officers responded to a possible domestic dispute on West Main Street at 2:57 p.m. April 8. Contact was made with all parties, who had calmed down. The parties were advised to contact law enforcement in the future for a civil standby to avoid any possible issues.
An officer responded to a large amount of mud in the roadway on Maple Street at 4:56 p.m. April 8. The homeowner was contacted and he advised he would get the roadway cleaned up as soon as possible.
An officer responded to a driving complaint on U.S. 42 at 9:32 p.m. April 8. Contact was made with the driver, who advised the car was not operating properly. He pulled the car over and contacted a tow truck. Subsequently, Michael Hoffer, 43, of Ashland was given a warning for driving an unsafe vehicle.
An officer responded to a non-injury vehicle crash on West Main Street and U.S. 42 at 10:40 p.m. April 7. A 2008 Honda truck traveling eastbound on West Main Street ran a red light and struck a 2014 Volkswagen that was traveling southbound on U.S. 42. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene. Subsequently, Mitchell Christian, 30, of Galloway was issued a citation for red light violation.
An officer found a vehicle with taillights on at Outdoor FX on South Jefferson Avenue at 1:27 a.m. April 6. Keyholders were attempted but were not reachable. The officer was unable to turn the lights off.
Officers responded to conduct a well-being check on Shepper Avenue at 8:54 a.m. April 6 and were advised that everything was fine.
An officer responded to a suspicious vehicle at Der Dutchman on South Jefferson Avenue at 12:03 a.m. April 5. Contact was made with the individuals, who were advised they couldn’t be at the business. One individual was warned for curfew and all parties left the location without incident.
An officer responded to Der Dutchman on South Jefferson Avenue at 12:08 a.m. April 5. Contact was made with the driver, who later moved the vehicle.
During a traffic stop, officers arrested Nicholas Villareal, 28, of Columbus on an outstanding arrest warrant out of Fairfield County. Initially, Villareal provided a false identity to officers. After further investigation, officers learned of his real identity and learned that his license was suspended. Subsequently, Villareal was cited for no valid operator’s license, driving under suspension and charged with falsification. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
An officer responded to Total Tennis Inc. on West Bigelow Avenue at 11:01 a.m. April 5 for the report of a disgruntled former employee.
An officer responded to Environmental Air on West Main Street at 2:29 p.m. April 5 for a parking complaint. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and stated she would move the vehicle. The officer later verified the vehicle had been moved.
An officer responded to the intersection of East Main Street and Butler Avenue for a non-injury crash at 2:41 p.m. April 5. A vehicle struck the side of a truck with a trailer attached, which caused diesel fuel to leak. A short time later, Engine 261 arrived on scene to clean up the diesel fuel. Both vehicle were towed from the scene due to the damage sustained. Subsequently, Cheryl Ostrander, 55, of Plain City was cited for right of way when turning left.
An officer responded to Coachman Drive for a complaint of possible stalking at 2:43 p.m. April 5. The caller advised she had observed the same dark colored vehicle on multiple occasions following her.
An officer responded to a disabled vehicle that made a U-turn, struck a rock and got stuck on Butler Avenue at 6:45 p.m. April 5. A short time later, Kirby’s Towing arrived on scene and removed the vehicle from the rock. Subsequently, Sheng Li, 42, of Powell was issued a citation for U-turn prohibited.
An officer responded to a canine left in a vehicle at Bickham Activity Center of Allgyer Drive at 12:08 a.m. April 4. Contact was made with the owner, who agreed to take the dog inside for the evening.
An officer responded to a possible solicitor complaint on Cottonwood Court at 3:08 p.m. April 4. The caller advised a subject was attempting to sell something. The officer made contact with the subject, who advised he was an employee with Frontier Communications and was doing work in the area.
An officer responded to Darby Substation on West Avenue at 3:50 p.m. April 4 for civil standby.
An officer was requested to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a BAC test at the Plain City Municipal Building on Village Boulevard at 1:06 a.m. April 3. The individual refused the test.
Officers responded to a possible fight at Lee’s Sports and Spirits on West Bigelow Avenue at 1:18 a.m. April 3. A large group of people were standing outside and officers were advised of a fight that took place, but all parties declined pressing charges. Clayton Sevy was trespassed from the business at the owner’s request.
An officer responded to suspicious circumstances on Johnson Court at 2:01 a.m. April 3. The caller reported hearing strange noises outside. The officer checked the area but was unable to find anything out of the ordinary.
An officer found a gate open at Cohesion Paper Product, LLC on South Jefferson Avenue and found a subject sleeping in his vehicle at 2:46 a.m. April 3. The officers verified with the business owner that the subject was allowed to be there. After determining everything to be fine, the gate was secured and the officers returned to patrol.
An officer responded to Cooper Lane for a possible harassment complaint at 7:57 p.m. April 3. The caller advised she had been in several disputes with a family member and did not want the family member coming to the house. The officer attempted to make contact but was unsuccessful. The caller was advised if the family member goes to the residence to call the police department.
An officer responded to a protection order violation complaint on East South Street at 9:51 p.m. April 3. The parties advised they are working with the London Police Department. The officer advised both parties not to have communication with each other and to contact LPD if any further issues occur.
An officer was requested by the Delaware City Police Department to do a well-being check on Willowbrook Court at 2:46 a.m. April 2. Contact was made with the individual and information was relayed to DPD.
An officer was requested to assist the Madison County Sheriff’s Office on Lafayette-Plain City Road while they were attempting to locate a vehicle at 12:25 p.m. April 2. The officer patrolled the area and was unable to locate the vehicle.
An officer responded to a 911 follow-up at Route 42 Bargains, LLC on South Jefferson Avenue at 1:08 p.m. April 2. The officer was advised the call was accidental and everything was fine.
Officers responded to a telecommunication harassment complaint on Gay Street at 10:44 p.m. April 2. The caller reported receiving harassing text messages from a known subject. The subject was advised not to have contact with the caller.
An officer responded to a request for a civil standby on North Avenue at 12:25 p.m. April 1.
An officer met with a subject who was requesting assistance with necessities at the Plain City Municipal Building on Village Boulevard at 4:25 p.m. April 1.The officer completed a St. Martin de Porres voucher and provided instructions for the program.
