According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer was on patrol on Nighthawk Drive at 3:36 p.m. April 18 and observed the driver’s side door on a white 2018 Toyota Tacoma open. The officer made contact with the vehicle owner and advised him that his truck door was open. The vehicle owner checked the inside of his vehicle and determined nothing was missing or out of place.
An officer observed a gray GMC parked on the no-parking side of Alderwood Circle at 3:13 p.m. April 18. The vehicle owner moved his vehicle to a valid parking spot on Alderwood Circle North.
An officer was dispatched to North Avenue at 2:56 p.m. April 18 in reference to a 911 follow-up.
An officer was requested to assist the Dublin Police Department as a Spanish translator at 12:18 a.m. April 18.
An officer responded to West Main Street at 7:36 p.m. April 18 in reference to a found cell phone. A short time later, the officer contacted the owner of the cell phone and returned the phone.
Officers were dispatched to West Main Street at 1:13 a.m. April 17 in reference to a possible domestic violence incident. The officer made contact with the victim, who refused to talk about the argument with the suspect. The officer attempted to speak with the suspect, but the suspect would not come to the door and the residence was dark. Officers had the medic respond to the scene and check the victim’s injuries, though the victim declined treatment. Officers later returned to patrol due to not being able to speak with the subject.
An officer observed a blue Acura TL with one headlight out traveling north on South Chillicothe Street at 11:57 p.m. April 17. The driver was given a verbal warning for the equipment violation and curfew.
An officer responded to U.S. 42 north at 5:34 p.m. April 17 at the request of the Union County Sheriff’s Office for a K-9 assist.
Officers responded to a report of a found green purse in the parking lot of North Avenue Apartments on North Avenue at 11:41 a.m. April 17. Dispatch contacted the purse owner, who advised the officer to give a purse to a friend at the listed location. The officer gave the purse to the friend.
An officer was dispatched to West Main Street at 10:23 a.m. April 17 in reference to a well-being check.
An officer responded to North Avenue at 7:34 p.m. April 16 in reference to a juvenile complaint. The officer made contact with the juvenile’s father and determined everything to be O.K.
An officer responded to an open door at Buckeye Brass and Winds on North Chillicothe Street at 1:05 a.m. April 16.
An officer responded to the pond north of Red Knot Court at 6:50 p.m. April 16 in reference to a juvenile complaint. The officer advised the juveniles that fishing is prohibited in the pond. The parties then left the area. The officer then made contact with the juveniles’ parents and advised them of the incident and alerted them that fishing is prohibited in that pond.
An officer was dispatched to Shell/Plain City Village Mart on South Jefferson Avenue at 12:26 p.m. April 16.
An officer was requested to assist a Union County Sheriff’s Office deputy with a breath test at the Plain City Municipal Building on Village Blvd. at 11:38 a.m. April 16.
An officer responded to an open door at Pioneer Roofing on Maple Street at 3:56 a.m. April 16.
An officer responded to an open door at Sweet Dreams Salt Therapy on West Main Street at 2:37 a.m. April 16.
An officer responded to an open door at The Grainery on West Main Street at 2:20 a.m. April 16.
An officer responded to an open door at Buckeye Barbeque and Pizza on West Bigelow Avenue at 1:39 a.m. April 16.
An officer was dispatched to Converse-Huff Road to assist with a crash at 8:14 p.m. April 16. The officer stood by until Ohio State Highway Patrol Post 49 arrived on the scene.
An officer observed a silver Nissan sedan traveling eastbound on Lantern Lane near South Chillicothe Street at 4:47 p.m. April 15. The vehicle did not appear to have a proper registration. Megan Bocook was later issued a citation for FRA suspension, no valid operator’s license, license forfeiture suspension and fictitious tags. The vehicle was towed to the PCPD impound lot.
An officer conducted a routine registration check on a silver Dodge Grand Caravan on South Jefferson Avenue at 2:16 p.m. April 15 and learned the registered owner had an expired driver’s license since May 8, 2014. The officer then initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the registered owner, Amanda Larson. Larson was issued a summons for drug paraphernalia and issued a citation for valid operator’s license.
An officer was dispatched to Old Hotel Apartments on West Main Street at 11:05 p.m. April 14 in reference to a possible rape. The victim was transported to a hospital.
An officer responded Corporate Blvd. at 5:35 p.m. April 14 at the request of the Union County Sheriff’s Office in reference to an alarm drop.
Officers assisted the Marysville Police Department with a consent search of North Avenue at 4:30 p.m. April 14.
While conducting school patrol at Plain City Elementary School, an officer observed a black Gerber pocket saw on the roadway at 8:42 a.m. April 14. The officer had prior knowledge that Napier Tree Service was cutting down a tree near the listed location and was able to locate the pocket saw owner and return the tool.
An officer responded to Mike’s Pit Stop on West Main Street at 1:54 p.m. April 13 in reference to a drive-off. The complainant stated that she believed the failure to pay was accidental. The officer made contact with the subject, who stated that he thought his card was accepted and the payment was received. A short time later, the business stated that the subject had made a full payment.
Officers responded to Ratcliff Lane at 3:42 p.m. April 13 in reference to a 911 unknown. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the caller, who stated that his daughter’s phone kept dialing 911 while it was malfunctioning. The officer assisted in resetting the phone so the issue would not continue.
Officers responded to the Plain City Municipal Building on Village Blvd. at 7:05 p.m. April 13 in reference to a found dog. The dog was placed in the kennel at PCPD and the Madison County Dog Warden was notified.
Officers responded to Jackson Blvd. at 7:36 p.m. April 13 in response to a solicitor complaint. Upon arrival, officers met with Maurusian Edwards. Edwards did not have a solicitor’s permit was charged with soliciting without a permit.
An officer was dispatched to Maple Street in reference to a message delivery at 9:08 p.m. April 13. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the subject and relayed the information.
An officer was dispatched to Gay Street at 9:58 p.m. April 13 in reference to a noise complaint. Upon arrival, the officer learned the noise was coming from the Village Water Department, who was working on a water main break. The officer relayed the information to the complainant, who said he understood.
Police responded to an open door at Bickham Activity Center and Pleasant on Allgyer Drive at 11:12 p.m. April 13.
Police responded to an open door at U Will Dance on North Chillicothe Street at 11:38 p.m. April 13.
Police responded to an open door at Buckeye Brass and Winds on North Chillicothe Street at 11:58 p.m. April 13.
Police responded to an alarm drop at the Park National Bank ATM on South Jefferson Avenue at 8:52 a.m. April 12.
An officer was informed of a raccoon on the roof of a building on Willow Creek Drive at 4:45 p.m. April 12. The officer was unable to safely get the raccoon down. He advised the complainant that if he notices the raccoon come down by itself, if it is forced down or appears sick and cannot care for itself to call PCPD.
Officers responded to the area of North Chillicothe Street and East Third Street in reference to a female lying on the ground at 6:22 p.m. April 12. Melinda Frey was subsequently issued a summons for disorderly conduct.
