According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer responded to a report of an ill person on West Main Street Apr. 16 at 6:50 p.m. The woman was transported to the hospital.
An officer went to U.S. 42 and Route 736 in reference to a driving complaint Apr. 16 at 5:37 p.m. The officer made contact with the driver and advised him to abide by all traffic laws then returned to patrol.
An officer responded to a theft complaint on West Main Street Apr. 16 at 5:01 p.m. The officer made contact with the business owner who said the driver of a black Mazda pumped gas without paying. The officer called Columbus Police who made contact with the driver and payment was made and accepted.
An officer went to Coachman Drive in reference to a person staying in a parked camper Apr. 16 at 3:51 p.m. The officer made contact with the woman and informed her that the camper could not stay there and needed to be moved. She agreed to have it moved by 4/18/19.
The police department on Friend Street received a lost license plate Apr. 16 at 1 p.m. Officers made contact with the Worthington Police Department who contacted the driver. The driver later recovered the plate.
An officer went to West Avenue in reference to a found dog Apr. 16 at 12:27 a.m. The dog was taken to the police department until contact was made with the owner. The dog owner retrieved the dog later that afternoon.
An officer observed a red Ford Focus parked on the sidewalk on Willowbend Circle Apr. 17 at 6:57 p.m. The officer attempted to make contact with the resident but was unsuccessful. The officer left a business card on the driver’s door and returned to patrol.
An officer was sent to a Willowbend Circle in reference to a parking complaint Apr. 17 at 6:54 p.m. The anonymous complaint said there was a silver Dodge pickup parked on the sidewalk. The officer arrived and made contact with the owner who moved the vehicle.
An officer went to East Main Street in response to a complaint of grass clippings being blown into the roadway Apr. 17 at 3:46 p.m.
An officer went to West South Street to in response to a well-being check Apr. 17 at 3:38 p.m.
An officer met with the manager of Dollar General in response to found credit/debit cards in and around the business Apr. 17 at 3:16 p.m. After contacting the owner or credit card institution, the cards were destroyed.
An officer observed a fallen “Do Not Enter” sign on Gay Street Apr. 18 at 8:36 p.m. After moving the sign, the officer contacted the street department.
An officer assisted the Union County Sheriff’s Department with a K-9 request on U.S. 33 near Route 161 Apr. 18 at 7:57 p.m.
An officer assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a K-9 request on U.S. 33 near Scottslawn Road Apr. 18 at 7:21 p.m.
An officer went to West Main Street in response to a suspicious vehicle Apr. 18 at 4:35 p.m. After determining everything to be fine, the officer returned to patrol.
An officer went to Cooper Lane in reference to damage done to a parked GMC SUV Apr. 18 at 4:06 p.m.
An officer went to South Jefferson Avenue in reference to damage done to a vehicle Apr. 19 at 10:52 a.m. The officer photographed the damage and informed the vehicle owner that available video would be checked for a potential suspect.
An officer went to Shepper Lane to check for a yellow truck that was stolen from Athens Apr. 19 at 10:40 a.m. The officer didn’t find the truck but made contact with the resident who advised that her daughter used to be friends with the suspect, but he had never lived there and hadn’t been around there in at least four years. The resident had no idea where the suspect was or how to contact him.
An officer was sent to Route 161 to assist with the Union County Sheriff’s Department Apr. 19 at 4:38 a.m.
An officer observed a suspicious 2013 Chevrolet on South Jefferson Avenue Apr. 19 at 3:10 a.m. The officer made contact with the driver who advised he worked for the Columbus Dispatch and was waiting for another employee with the newspapers.
An officer responded to the area of West Main Street, between Friend Street and U.S. 42 for a non-injury crash Apr. 20 at 3:58 p.m.
An officer responded to East First Avenue in reference to a suspicious person Apr. 20 at 12:38 p.m. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the caller who stated that an unknown male pulled up to her residence in a blue vehicle and knocked on the resident’s door. The resident stated that she did not answer the door because she did not recognize the male. The officer checked the area but was unable to locate the suspect. The vehicle information returned to a company. The officer attempted to locate a phone number for the company but was unsuccessful. The officer then returned to patrol.
An officer went to Lewis Circle in reference to a 911 call Apr. 21 at 11:52 p.m. The officer determined the call was accidental.
