According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer was dispatched to Christian Life Church on South Chillicothe Street at 11:23 p.m. May 2 in reference to a suspicious circumstance.
An officer responded to the area of Central Ave at 6:52 p.m. May 2 in reference to suspicious circumstances. The caller stated that they heard a loud sound that sounded similar to a gun shot. Upon arrival, the officer checked the area and made contact with a suspect who stated that he had set off a firework a few moments earlier. The officer advised the suspect that fireworks were not permitted within the corporation limits. The suspect stated that he was unaware and would not set off any more fireworks.
A complainant called the police from The Grainery at 3:11 a.m. May 2 because his sister was being harassed by her now-separated husband. After making contact with all parties involved, officers advised the subject that he is trespassed to The Grainery and Pioneer Pizza. Officers advised the victim that an officer would follow up during the next shift to get a statement for the telecommunications harassment citation.
An officer was requested to assist a Union County Sheriff’s Office deputy with a traffic stop at Richwood Bank on West Main Street at 11:30 p.m. May 2.
An officer was on routine patrol an observed a silver Honda Civic traveling on East Main Street at 12:16 a.m. May 1. The vehicle was swerving as it drove eastbound. The officer stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Bonnie Keaton. After further investigation, Keaton was placed in custody for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. She was later transported to the police department. Keaton was issued a citation for OVI and marked lanes. She was advised of her court date and released to a valid driver.
An officer was advised of a non-injury crash that occurred on Route 161 just east of Butler Avenue at 8:52 p.m. May 1. The reporting party stated that a deer had been struck and was still in the roadway. Upon arrival, the officer checked the area but was unable to locate the deer or vehicle involved in the crash. A short time later, the officer was met at the Police Department by the subject involved in crash. The subject requested a report be completed for his insurance.
An officer responded to the area of South Chillicothe Street at 8:38 p.m. May 1 in reference to a driving complaint. The officer observed the vehicle turning with no turn signal. The officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with vehicle driver. The officer advised driver to pay more attention while driving and gave driver a verbal warning for no turn signal.
An officer observed a female running after a pit bull on West Main Street near Park Street at 2:59 p.m. May 1. The canine was returned to its owner. The canine owner was given a warning for animals running at large.
Officers responded to McDonald’s on South Jefferson Avenue at 2:31 p.m. May 1 in reference to a 911 unknown.
An officer was dispatched to Buckeye Barbeque and Pizza at 12:45 p.m. May 1 in reference to a suspicious person. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the suspect who stated that she was locked out of her apartment and needed assistance getting in. A short time later, the landlord arrived and assisted with unlocking the apartment.
Officers responded to Dogwood Court at 10:29 a.m. May 1 in reference to a suspicious vehicle. The complainant was advised to call if the vehicle returns and that the listed location will be added to the watchlist.
An officer was dispatched to Church Street at 12:55 a.m. May 1 for a report of a shooting complaint. An officer circulated the area, but the officer’s search was unfounded. The officer advised complainant that if complainant sees or hears something similar to call PCPD.
Officers arrived at Dogwood Court at 10:29 a.m. May 1 in reference to a suspicious vehicle. The officer advised the complainant that PCPD would increase patrols at the listed location and to call if they see the vehicle again.
Officers were dispatched to North Avenue at midnight April 30 because the caller stated her boyfriend was drunk and threatening her. The complainant and her boyfriend told officers that they would be civil for the night. Due to children being present, this report will be forwarded to Department of Jobs and Family Services.
Police responded to an open door at Marathon on West Main Street at 10:28 p.m. April 30.
Officers were dispatched to North Avenue at 7:48 p.m. April 30 in reference to a domestic dispute.
An officer responded to the area of South Chillicothe Street near Lantern Lane at 5:19 p.m. April 30 in reference to a non-injury accident. The vehicle driver advised he was operating his white Ford pick-up truck northbound on South Chillicothe Street near Lantern Lane when a no parking sign blew partially into the roadway, striking his mirror. This caused minor damage, breaking the mirror.
Police responded to an alarm drop at Tique Tock on South Chillicothe Street at 10:38 a.m. April 30.
An officer was on patrol on South Jefferson Avenue at 10:36 a.m. April 30 and observed a 2006 blue Chevy Cobalt and observed the driver to be Bradley Ross. Ross was subsequently issued a citation for no valid operator’s license and driving under suspension. The vehicle was towed to the PCPD Impound lot. Ross was released from the scene to a valid driver.

Police responded to an open door at Sweet Dreams Salt Therapy on West Main Street at 2:22 a.m. April 30.
Police responded to an open door at Pioneer Pizza on North Chillicothe Street at 2:06 a.m. April 30.
While on patrol, an officer observed a collarless white Chihuahua walking on South Chillcothe Street at 1:141 a.m. April 30. The dog was returned to its owner.
An officer was dispatched to North Chillicothe Street at 7:50 a.m. in reference to a 911 follow-up.
An officer was dispatched to Maple Street at 8:15 a.m. April 29 in reference to suicide threats. The subject agreed to a voluntary transport to the hospital by his grandmother.
An officer received a referral from Nationwide Children’s Hospital at 10 a.m. April 29 regarding a child being brought there due to parental concern and lethargy.
An officer observed a white light flashing at Buckeye Forklift and Equipment on South Jefferson Avenue at 9:28 p.m. April 29. It appeared that the light was malfunctioning. Dispatch left a message for the owner to contact an officer about the incident.
An officer was requested by the Union County Sheriff’s Office at 9:44 p.m. April 29 to respond to U.S. 42 in reference to a possible domestic dispute.
While on routine patrol, an officer observed a grey Toyota Corolla in the easternmost part of the Der Dutchman parking lot on South Jefferson Avenue at 11:51 p.m. April 29. The officer advised the subject that he was on the property after hours and at that time was trespassing.
Police responded to an open door at Buckeye Brass and Winds on North Chillicothe Street at 11:38 a.m. April 28.
An officer responded to Spaulding Avenue at 9:55 a.m. April 28 in reference to a crash. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the driver, Melba Miller. Miller was cited for starting and backing vehicles.
Police responded to an open door at Ferguson Funeral Home on East Main Street at 11:49 p.m. April 28.
While on a traffic stop on Carriage Drive at 4:11 p.m. April 27, an anonymous subject handed an officer a Visa credit card that the subject found while walking on the sidewalk. The card owner was contacted and advised that she already contacted the credit card company and canceled the card. The card owner requested that the officer destroy it. The card was later taken to the police department and destroyed.
Police responded to an open door at New Life Baptist Church on West Main Street at 4:32 a.m. April 27.
An officer was dispatched to the area of West Avenue for a 911 follow-up at 2:07 p.m. April 27.
An officer was flagged down at 4:36 p.m. April 27 by a subject who stated a large amount of concrete spilled in the roadway near the downtown area. The officer contacted the Public Works Department, who arrived a short time later and cleaned up the mess. After assistance was no longer needed, the officer returned to patrol. After reviewing video surveillance in the area, the officer learned that the cement truck involved belonged to Ohio Ready Mix. Citations are pending.
An officer was met on station at 5:35 p.m. April 27 by a subject who advised that he had found a cellular phone laying in the roadway on Lafayette-Plain City Road. Due to the damage, the screen was not readable. A Facebook post was made regarding the found property.
An officer was dispatched to the area of West Main Street and Friend Street at 8:03 p.m. April 27 in reference to a road rage incident. The officer checked the area and did not locate a possible suspect vehicle. The complainant thanked the officer for checking for the vehicle.
A Union County Sheriff’s Office deputy requested backup at Marshal Technologies Center on U.S. 42 at 8:22 p.m. April 27.
Police responded to an open door at the Plain City Aquatic Center on West Second Avenue at 11:55 p.m. April 27.
A black Motorola cell phone was turned into the Plain City Municipal Building on Village Blvd. at 9:29 a.m. April 27. It was discovered who the phone belonged to and, a short time later, the phone was returned to its owner.
An officer was requested to assist the Union County Sheriff’s Office to help translate in Spanish on a traffic stop on U.S. 33 at 9:26 p.m. April 26.
An officer was dispatched to Warrenton Drive at 6:06 p.m. April 26 for an unruly 12-year-old. The juvenile agreed to attempt to keep things civil. The officer advised mother if juvenile were to becomes unruly, to contact PCPD.
An officer responded to Der Dutchman on South Jefferson Avenue at 2:55 p.m. April 26 in reference to a 911 unknown.
An officer responded to Dickens Lane at 11:29 a.m. April 26 in reference to an identity theft. The complainant was advised to report the incident to the Department of Job and Family Services and to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
A complainant called 911 because an unknown male, later identified as Adam Kaetzel, was on the back porch to their residence at 12:16 a.m. April 26. Kaetzel was charged for trespassing and transported to Tri-County Regional Jail.

Police responded to an alarm drop at Richwood Bank on West Main Street at 4:48 a.m. April 25.
A motorist who wished to remain anonymous flagged an officer down on West Main Street at 1:31 p.m. April 25 and advised the Richwood Bank ATM is broken and might have a bank card inside the card slot. Key holders were contacted via public service. A short time later, the key holder made contact with an officer, who stated the ATM was working correctly and was not having any issues.

An officer assisted the Madison County Sheriff’s Office with an animal in the roadway at Scheiderer Farms and Trucking on Route 161 at 7:56 a.m. April 25.

Police responded to an open door at Cohesion Paper Product, LLC on South Jefferson Avenune at 12:48 a.m. April 24.
Police responded to an open door at Pioneer Pizza on North Chillicothe Street at 4 a.m. April 24.
Police responded to an alarm drop on Ratcliff Lane at 12:29 p.m. April 24.
An officer performed a routine registration check on white Jeep traveling westbound on Perry Pike at 1:13 p.m. April 24. The registered owner, Gavin Mulqueen, was under a non-compliance suspension through Dublin’s Mayors Court. Mulqueen was subsequently issued a citation for no valid operator’s license and driving under a non-compliance suspension. The vehicle was later transported to the Plain City Impound Lot, where an officer seized the vehicles plates on behalf of the BMV.
An officer responded to Pioneer Pizza on North Chillicothe Street at 8:23 p.m. April 24 in reference to a noise complaint. The officer warned the suspect of the complaint and the possible consequences if his actions continued. The suspect apologized and stated that it would not happen again.
Police responded to an open door on Lantern Lane at 10:43 p.m. April 24.
A complainant called PCPD at 11:18 p.m. April 24, stating that a person just walked out of Mike’s Pit Stop on West Main Street without paying for a drink. The business owner stated a short time later the suspect came back into the store and apologized and wanted to pay for the alcoholic beverage. The business owner told the white male to never come back and that he would not take his money. The officer advised he would follow up to retrieve the video in an attempt to identify and officially trespass the individual.

Police responded to an open door at St. Joseph’s Rec Center on West Main Street at midnight April 23.
Officers responded to Pastime Park on North Chillicothe Street at 6:46 p.m. April 23 in reference to the women’s restroom being vandalized. Officers met with both the parents and children and advised they were trespassed from the park until further notice. The officer made contact with the Park Manager, who advised that she was uncertain if she wanted to pursue with charges at this time but would notify officers in the near future.
An officer was flagged down by a complainant at 5:48 p.m. April 23, who advised that he found a drone in his yard. The complainant handed the officer the drone and the officer collected it as found property. On April 26, the drone was returned to its owner.
An officer was dispatched to Pastime Park in reference to a vandalism complaint at 1:15 p.m. April 23.
An officer was dispatched to Lantern Lane in reference to a 911 follow-up at 8:30 a.m. April 23.
An officer was dispatched to the Plain City Food Pantry Thrift Store on West Main Street at 4:46 a.m. April 23.
An officer witnessed a black Honda Accord parked at McDonald’s on South Jefferson Avenue at 4:01 a.m. April 23. The officer determined everything was O.K.
