According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer was dispatched to the area of Route 161 and Old Route 161 in reference to a road hazard at 3:28 p.m. June 28. While checking the area, the officer was flagged down by a passerby who advised that she found a large Saint Bernard dog on the roadside. The complainant stated that once the canine was in her vehicle, it became aggressive to the point she didn’t feel comfortable driving it in her car. The canine was taken to the PCPD kennel until the Madison County Dog Warden was able to retrieve it.
An officer observed a large amount of loose gravel at the intersection of S. Chillicothe Street and West Avenue at 10:21 a.m. June 28. The officer made contact with the construction crew working on Gay Street and advised him of the road hazard. The officer provided traffic control until the roadway was cleared. The construction crew was warned for an unsecured load.
An officer responded to Pastime Park on North Chillicothe Street at 7:53 p.m. June 27 in reference to a domestic dispute. The suspect stated that she was in a verbal dispute with her stepsister, who arrived at the campsite to argue over a pending family divorce. The suspect advised that the stepsister drove away from the campsite before the officer’s arrival. The officer attempted to contact the stepsister via public service but was unsuccessful. The officer left a voicemail advising the stepsister not to return to the campsite. The suspect advised there would be no further issues.
An officer observed a black Ford F-150 parked too close to a fire hydrant and in a no parking zone on Fanshell Drive at 10:45 a.m. June 27. An officer made contact with the resident and owner of the vehicle. The officer verbally warned the subject of the parking violation and requested he move his vehicle to an appropriate parking spot. The vehicle was moved.
An officer was dispatched to Carriage Drive with medic personnel from the Pleasant Valley Fire Department at 10:08 a.m. June 27. The patient admitted to being unable to provide care for himself and agreed to be transported to the hospital. A report was forwarded to the Madison County Adult Protective services in reference to the subject’s living conditions.
Police were dispatched to Smoking Aces Armory on Route 161 in reference to an alarm drop at 3:18 a.m. June 27.
An officer responded to East Main Street at 12:04 a.m. June 27 in reference to a suspicious vehicle.
An officer was met at the police department by a complainant and her daughter regarding a suspicious vehicle and circumstances on Perry Pike at 8:28 a.m. June 27. The officer drove the subdivision and did not observe any vehicle out of the ordinary. The officer advised the complainant and daughter to contact PCPD if they observed the vehicle at any time so the officer could follow-up.
An officer was on patrol in Pastime Park at 7 a.m. June 26 and observed the stop sign next to the basketball court was missing. The officer checked the post and observed that it appeared to have been taken due to the bolts also missing. The officer checked the area and did not locate the sign. The officer then returned to patrol. The Parks Director and Street Department Manager were advised of the missing sign.
An officer responded to Plain City Lanes on South Jefferson Avenue at 9:42 p.m. June 26 in reference to an injury crash involving a deer. The driver was transported to hospital by medic.
An officer was dispatched to West Second Avenue at 7:13 p.m. June 26 in reference to a noise complaint. The complainant advised he believed the music was too loud and he believed it was in violation of the noise ordinance. The officer advised the complainant that the officer could hear the music, but it was not in violation of the noise ordinance concerning the business district. The officer advised the complainant that he could make contact with village officials to voice his concerns regarding the current noise ordinance.
An officer was dispatched to North Chillicothe Street at 10:57 a.m. June 26 in reference to a suspicious person. Officers arrived and made contact with the suspect. The officer advised the suspect that he was loitering on private property and had to leave. The suspect gathered his belongings and was verbally warned for trespassing.
An officer was dispatched to Carriage Drive at 4:09 a.m. June 26 in reference to a 911 unknown.
An officer was requested to conduct a BAC test for a Union County Sheriff’s Office deputy at the Plain City Municipal Building at 8:30 p.m. June 26.
An officer was dispatched to Hundley Court at 1:51 p.m. June 25 in reference to a dog bite. An officer met with the canine owner and explained the information to him. The canine owner was apologetic and understood the quarantine order for his canine. The information about the canine was obtained and the animal bite form was sent to the Madison County Health Department.
An officer was contacted by a complainant concerning a noise complaint coming from The Grainery at 8:14 p.m. June 25. The officer advised the complainant that The Grainery was not in violation of the noise ordinance.
An officer responded to Carriage Drive at 6:50 p.m. at the request of Station 261 personnel.
An officer responded to Plain City Food Pantry on West Main Street at 6:25 p.m. June 25. The anonymous caller advised they observed a black sports car parked in a handicap parking spot in front of the listed location. The caller advised they did not observe a handicap placard in the vehicle. The officer responded and found the vehicle to be a black Porsche. The officer canvassed the area and was unable to locate the registered owner. The officer then returned to patrol and checked the area in about 15 and saw that the car was gone.
An officer responded to South Chillicothe Street at 5:46 p.m. June 25 in reference to a disabled vehicle. The officer offered assistance, but the vehicle operator advised they would get the vehicle moved another way.
An officer was dispatched to the area of Gay Street at 11:35 p.m. June 24 in reference to a noise complaint. Upon arrival, the officer searched the area but was unable to locate anything out of the ordinary.
An officer responded to East Main Street at 10:05 p.m. June 24 in reference to a suspicious vehicle.
Officers responded to Warbler Lane at 9:46 p.m. June 24 for a loud noise complaint and the odor of marijuana. Upon arrival, officers did not hear any music playing or smell the odor of marijuana. Officers advised the suspects of the noise ordinance for future reference.
An officer responded to Steadfast Performance Training on Gay Street in reference to a 911 follow-up at 7:25 p.m. June 24.
Ohio State Highway Patrol requested an officer respond to U.S. 42 in reference to a traffic accident at midnight June 24.
An officer was dispatched to Central Avenue at 9:19 p.m. June 23 in reference to a suspicious person. The officer located the suspect, a juvenile, stumbling on the edge of the roadway. The juvenile was placed into custody and transported to the police department. The juvenile refused to submit to a breath test and released to his mother a short time later.
An officer responded to Plain City Druggist on South Jefferson Avenue at 4:51 p.m. June 23 in reference to a private property crash that occurred in the drive-thru of the listed location. Deborah Channel was issued a traffic citation for no valid operator’s license. She was advised to have a valid driver pick her and the vehicle up.
An officer responded to the intersection of West Bigelow Avenue and Maple Street in reference to a traffic crash at 3:49 p.m. June 23. Ron Winn was cited for improper backing.
Officers responded to East Main Street at 3:01 p.m. June 23 in reference to an unruly juvenile. Once the parties were calm, the officers returned to patrol.

An officer responded to Maple Street at 10:56 p.m. June 23 in reference to a domestic dispute. Both parties confirmed that the dispute was strictly verbal and that there would be no further issues. Both parties agreed to remain calm and separate for the night.
An officer responded to the area of Cemetery Pike and Plain City Georgesville Road at 9:57 p.m. June 22 at the request of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

An officer was dispatched to the area of Buckboard Lane and Willow Creek Drive at 6:39 p.m. June 22 in reference to a solicitor complaint. Adam Tontz and Keith Patrick were issued a summons for soliciting without a permit and released.
Police responded to an open door on Ratcliff Lane at 6:19 p.m. June 22.
An officer assisted a Union County deputy on a traffic stop on West Main Street at 11:14 a.m. June 22.
Police responded to an open door at The Ball House on West Bigelow Avenue at 1:45 a.m. June 22.
An officer was dispatched to Dollar General on South Jefferson Avenue at 10:41 p.m. June 22.
