According to Plain City Police Department reports:
Police responded to an alarm drop at Carlisle Gifts on South Jefferson Avenue at 8:27 p.m. July 12.
Officers were dispatched to Richwood Bank at 1:11 p.m. July 12 in reference to a possible marijuana complaint. Officers arrived and met with the driver and the passenger, who advised that it was a tobacco vape pen. The subject was underage to smoke, so the officer contacted the mother, who arrived on scene a short time later. The officer spoke with the subject and advised him again of the severity of his actions and how they could result in possible charges.
An officer was dispatched to a littering complaint at The Ball House on West Bigelow Avenue at 11:46 a.m. July 12. The complainant stated that someone illegally dumped two mattresses in his work dumpster and the dumpster company would not pick it up. Through some investigation, the officer was able to find who illegally dumped the mattresses. The officer advised the suspect that he needed to remove the property as soon as possible.
An officer was made aware of damage to a guardrail in front of Outdoor FX on South Jefferson Avenue at 8:23 a.m. July 12. The officer took photographs of the damage and made contact with the business owner.
An officer was requested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol to assist with a BAC test at the Plain City Municipal Building on Village Blvd. at 3:45 a.m. July 12.
An officer was dispatched to a report of an unknown black Cadillac Escalade parked in the caller’s driveway on Alderwood Circle South at 12:29 p.m. July 11. The suspect was advised that the homeowner wanted her to move her vehicle, which the suspect did.
An officer was dispatched to Cohesion Paper Products, LLC on South Jefferson Avenue at 1:50 p.m. July 11 in reference to a fireworks complaint. The officer met with the suspect, who advised that he had and was under the understanding that they were legal on private property. The officer advised the suspect that they are not legal and advised the suspect to not set any additional fireworks off. The suspect advised he understood and would not set them off anymore.
Officers were dispatched to West Avenue at 1:38 p.m. July 10 in reference to a civil standby. The officers stood by while the subject gathered their belongings.
Officers responded to Allgyer Drive at 11:52 p.m. July 10 in reference to a loose dog. Officers transferred and older chocolate Lab mix to the Plain City Police Department. The Madison County Dog Warden picked up the dog shortly after.
Police responded to an open door on Nighthawk Drive at 12:57 a.m. July 9.
Police responded to an open door at The Grainery on West Main Street at 4:13 a.m. July 9.
An officer was dispatched to the area of Pastime Park for a 911 follow-up at 8:32 a.m. July 9. Dispatch advised no answer on call-backs and a voicemail was left. The officer checked the area and did not locate anyone in distress.
An officer was dispatched to North Avenue at 1:35 p.m. July 9 in reference to kids ringing the doorbell and running. The officer then spoke with all kids involved, along with their parents. The children apologized for the incident and advised they would not do it again.
An officer was dispatched to Fairfield Drive at 2:41 p.m. July 9 in reference to a possible identity theft. The officer provided the complainant with information about not being a crime victim and referred him to the Ohio Attorney General’s website to gain further information on avoiding scams.
Subjects contacted the police department at 7:02 p.m. July 9 to advise they wanted a civil standby on South Chillicothe Street.
An officer responded to The Grainery on West Main Street at 9:25 p.m. July 9 in reference to a noise complaint. The officer contacted the business to advise the employees about the complaint.
An officer observed a silver Toyota parked on the parking lot of Der Dutchman on South Jefferson Avenue with a female sitting in the driver’s seat at 2:46 a.m. July 8. The officer determined everything to be O.K.
Officers were dispatched to East High Street at 7:08 p.m. July 8 in reference to a residential lockout.
Police responded to an open door at Plain City Barbell on South Jefferson Avenue at 11:17 p.m. July 8.
An officer was dispatched to Warrenton Drive at 8:12 p.m. July 7 in reference to a suspicious person/vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer learned the male was a delivery driver. The male left a package at the door of the listed location and left.
An officer responded to West Main Street at 6:29 p.m. July 7 in reference to found property at Marathon on West Main Street. The officer took possession of the wallet and learned the identity of the owner. The officer then went to the residence of the owner and returned the wallet.
An officer was advised that a complainant and her daughter were at the police department wishing to speak to an officer about a dog bit at 11:40 a.m. July 7. The officer advised the dog owner was under immediate quarantine for at least 10 days and that a report would be forwarded to Madison County Public Health.
Police responded to an alarm drop at the Plain City Public Library on West Main Street at 2:34 p.m. July 7.
While investigating another call for service, an officer observed several juveniles near the south playground at Pastime Park at 12:57 a.m. July 7. The officer advised the juveniles that they were out past curfew. The officer advised all parents that their children would be receiving charges for violating curfew.
Officers were dispatched to Maple Court at 12:36 a.m. July 7 in reference to a suicide threat. The officer met with all parties and the subject declined to go to the hospital. The mother advised the officer that she would watch the subject and would contact officers if anything changed.
Officers were dispatched to North Avenue in reference to a domestic dispute at 8:28 p.m. July 7. Once the subject left the area, the officer determined everything to be fine.
Officers were requested to provide a civil standby on West Avenue at 4:41 p.m. July 6. The interaction was civil and the subject left without incident.
Police responded to an open door at the NAPA on Village Blvd. at 11:34 p.m. July 6.
An officer was dispatched to State Farm on West Main Street at 5:34 p.m. July 6 in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer located the vehicle with two subjects inside. The officer did not see anything out of the ordinary.
Dispatch advised that Madison County received a 911 landline call at 11:58 a.m. July 6. The officer arrived at Bindery and Pressworks on West Bigelow Avenue and checked the interior and followed up with an employee who stated that all was well.
An officer was dispatched to the area of East Bigelow Avenue at 3:25 a.m. July 6 in reference to a suspicious circumstance. The officer searched the area but did not observe anything out of the ordinary.
An officer responded to the area of Plain City-Georgesville Road near Amity Pike in reference to a driving complaint at 11:21 p.m. July 6. The officer initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle and made contact with the vehicle’s driver. The officer advised the driver to drive more carefully and of the curfew timeframe.
Police responded to an open door at NAPA on Village Blvd. at 1:17 a.m. July 5.
Officers responded to West Avenue at 11:42 p.m. July 5 in reference to a 911 unknown. Dispatch advised that they received a 911 call mapping at the listed location and could hear arguing in the background. Upon further investigation, Chad Mason was placed into custody for domestic violence. The officer transported Mason to the Tri-County Regional Jail without issue.
Officers responded to a solicitor without a permit on East West Avenue at 8:17 p.m. July 5. Eddie White and John Ross were charged with soliciting without a permit.
Officers responded to Der Dutchman on South Jefferson Avenue at 4:21 p.m. July 5 in reference to a private property crash.
An off-duty officer called dispatch at 11:48 a.m. July 5 advising he found a silver watch at Pastime Park. The property was recovered.
An officer received a complaint about a juvenile possibly consuming drugs on Harrington Drive at 1:01 a.m. July 4. The officer made contact with the juvenile’s father via public service. The officer advised the father that the officer had been to the residence previously and observed nothing out of the ordinary. The juvenile’s father stated that he would contact PCPD if there were any issues.
Officers responded to North Avenue at 11:14 p.m. July 4 in reference to a noise complaint. After they advised the subject not to light off any more fireworks, officers returned to patrol.
An officer had an anonymous bystander at Pastime Park turn in a black Galaxy cell phone at 11 p.m. July 4.

An officer was approached by a subject while directing traffic at 10:50 p.m. July 4. The subject stated that they found a small floral wallet at Pastime Park. The officer secured the wallet.
An officer responded to Pastime Park at 8:48 p.m. July 4 in reference to a 911 unknown. The officer confirmed the call was made by mistake.
An officer was dispatched to American Tower on South Jefferson Avenue at 2:35 p.m. July 4. The officer checked the area and was unable to locate anyone in distress or anything unusual.
Dispatch advised that a lost dog was found on South Chillicothe Street at 12:40 p.m. July 4, but that the dog was reunited with the owner shortly thereafter. The officer arrived and made contact with the dog owner and verbally warned them for having a dog running at large. The officer advised her that if this would continue, that she may be charged. The owner stated that she would do her best for it not to happen again.
An officer observed a dark blue Volkswagen GTI parked off the roadway in the grass in front of Pastime Park at 11:51 p.m. July 4. Upon the officer’s approach, the officer was unable to locate the vehicle or the driver. The vehicle was not a road hazard.
An officer responded to Harrington Drive at 12:15 a.m. July 4 in reference to a noise complaint.
An officer was dispatched to the south entrance of Pastime Park where a vehicle was blocking the “road closed” sign at 1:58 p.m. July 4. Upon arrival, the officer located a black Chevy suburban parked in front of the sign. The officer made contact with the driver, who moved the vehicle without issue.
An officer responded to West Main Street for a well-being check at 10:35 p.m. July 3. Upon arrival, nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
Officers were dispatched to the Plain City Aquatic Center at 8:48 p.m. July 3 in reference to a juvenile complaint. An anonymous caller advised that juveniles were shooting fireworks in the area. The children were given warnings for disorderly conduct and fireworks. The adults were advised of the process for unruly charges, if they wanted to file charges.
Police responded to an open door at Pioneer Pizza on North Chillicothe Street at 4:33 a.m. July 3.
An officer was dispatched to Cohesion Paper Product, LLC on South Jefferson Avenue at 8:59 a.m. July 3 in reference to a suspicious person.
An officer was dispatched to Harrington Drive at 11:24 a.m. July 3 in reference to questions about a U.S. Census flier that was left at their residence.
An officer responded to North Avenue Apartments on North Avenue at 8:10 p.m. July 3 in reference to found property. The caller located a multi-colored jacket with a capped syringe in the pocket. The officer collected the syringe and disposed of it properly.
The officer responded to North Avenue at 10:47 p.m. July 3 in reference to a fireworks complaint. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the suspect, who admitted to firing off several fireworks earlier in the night and stated that he would not fire off anymore. The officer advised the suspect of the possible consequences if his actions continued.
An officer responded to Jackson Blvd. at 10:49 p.m. July 3in reference to a fireworks complaint from a caller who wished to remain anonymous. Upon arrival, the suspect was letting off fireworks in his backward. The suspect was advised to stop and was given a warning for letting off fireworks.
An officer was flagged down by a complainant in from of the North Avenue Apartments at 11 p.m. July 3 in reference to a neighbor dispute. The officer advised all parties to remain civil and to report any further issues.
An officer responded to The Grainery on West Main Street at 11:03 p.m. July 3 in reference to a noise complaint from the area of West First Avenue. The caller, who wished to remain anonymous, advised the noise from the listed business was too loud. The officer advised the business owner to turn down the music. The owner complied and the music was turned down.
An officer responded to North Avenue in reference to a noise complaint at 11:38 p.m. July 3. Upon arrival, all subjects were given a verbal warning for noise.
An officer was dispatched to The Grainery on West Main Street at 8:19 p.m. July 3 in reference to a loose canine. The canine was taken to the PCPD kennel and the Union County Dog Warden was notified of the canine. The dog was released to its owner the next day.
An officer was dispatched to a possible solicitor complaint on Alderwood Circle at 10:12 a.m. July 2. The officer made contact with two subjects who stated they were not soliciting, they were there with a list of customers for whom they were supposed to seal their driveways. The subjects provided the officer with a client list, which showed they were there by the residents’ request. The officer advised both subjects of the possible consequences if they do solicit without a permit and informed them of the proper steps to secure a permit if they choose to do so.
An officer responded to Fanshell Drive at 10:20 p.m. July 2 in reference to a driving complaint. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the caller. The caller was able to show the officer a video of the incident and tried to provide the officer with a copy of the video. After speaking with the caller, the officer learned the possible license plate is not a registered license plate. The officer said he would attempt to locate the vehicle.
An officer responded to Fairfield Drive at 8:10 p.m. July 2 in reference to a possible theft. The caller advised she was missing an iPhone 8 and some clothing. The officer made contact with the tenant at the listed location, who advised the officer that the caller came at 2 p.m. to collect her property.
An officer was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on South Chillicothe Street at West Avenue at 8:51 a.m. July 2. Sharon Martt was subsequently issued a citation for failure to yield from a stop sign.
Police responded to an open door at St. Joseph’s Rec Center on West Main Street at 1:20 a.m. July 2.
An officer responded to North Mechanic Street at 8:49 p.m. July 2 in reference to a loud noise complaint. The officer contacted employees from the business about the complaint.
