According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer was dispatched to a 911 follow-up at Pastime Park at 6:22 p.m. July 15. The officer made contact with the caller, who advised the call was accidental and everything was fine.
An officer was dispatched to the area of Route 161 east in reference to a driving complaint at 3:03 p.m. July 15. The officer located the vehicle on East Main Street near Jackson Blvd. The officer followed the vehicle and observed no violations. The officer stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver. The driver advised that she was lost and was unaware that Cosgray Road was closed. The officer assisted the driver with directions and advised her to be careful on her trip.
An officer was requested by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office to deliver a message to a subject on Buggywhip Lane at 8:38 a.m. July 15. Upon arrival, the officer met with a subject and relayed the message from MCSO.
An officer could hear music coming from The Grainery on West Main Street at 1:01 a.m. July 15. The sound was clearly audible from the roadway and adjacent areas. The officer made contact with an employee, who was sitting in the patio area. The officer advised the employee that the music was in violation of the noise ordinance and that it needed to be turned down. The officer advised the employee of the possible consequences if the noise ordinance continued to be violated.
An officer observed a white Chevrolet pick-up truck pulling a utility trailer with no registration and only one operational brake light on West Main Street at 8:15 p.m. July 14. The officer initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle driver and his passengers, one of which was Robert Mitchell. After further investigation, it was found that Mitchell had an active warrant out of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear in court on a traffic offense. Mitchell was placed in custody for his warrant and transported to Tavern 42, where a Genoa Township officer took custody of him.
A firefighter from the Pleasant Valley Fire Department turned over found property to PCPD at 1:25 p.m. July 14, which a resident provided to them. The property included two shotgun shells that were found by an unknown person on their property. The individual desired to dispose of them.
An officer responded to The Grainery on West Main Street at 11:41 p.m. July 13 in reference to a customer being involved in a verbal dispute with one of the workers. The subject had already left the business upon the officer’s arrival. The business requested the officer make contact with the subject and advise him that he is trespassed from the property.
The village administrator requested that an officer check on an abandoned vehicle that was on Gay Street at 4:24 p.m. July 13. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the vehicle owner’s brother, who advised he just hasn’t had time to move the car. The officer advised him that the officer would give his contact information to the village administrator and he could talk with him about getting it moved.
An officer was dispatched to Central Avenue at 3:26 p.m. July 13 in reference to a non-injury crash. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with Carl Portman. Portman was issued a citation for no valid operator’s license, MD administrative suspension and failure to control.
An officer was dispatched to Taylor Autobody on West Main Street at 2:14 p.m. July 13 in reference to a private property crash. Upon further review, there were slight scratches to the license plate bracket on the front of the Honda and scratches on the driver’s side rear wheel panel of the Toyota. The owner of the Toyota was notified of the damage.
While on routine patrol at 12:23 p.m. July 13, an officer observed a subject walking westbound in the middle of West Avenue at Willowbend Circle. The officer repeatedly advised the subject to get back on the sidewalk and off the roadway. The officer requested more units and the medics to start in the officer’s direction. Medic 261 arrived on scene and took the subject to the hospital. The officer made contact with the subject’s mother.
While on routine patrol at 11:03 a.m. July 13, an officer observed what appeared to be an injured animal on Perry Pike. The rabbit had been run over and was in obvious distress. The officer dispatched the animal.
An officer was advised at 5:40 a.m. July 13 that the complainant contacted dispatch for a parking complaint and for people who have walked on her property on Gay Street. When the officer asked the complainant about her complaints, she asked the officer to disregard them. The officer attempted to do a well-being check, but received no answer at the door. A short time later, the complainant’s daughter called and advised that the complainant was now with her husband at the doctor’s office and was safe.
Police responded to an open door at Outdoor FX on South Jefferson Avenue at 1:19 a.m. July 13.
