According to Plain City Police Department reports:
A complainant called into the police department at 8:50 a.m. July 19 to advise that someone threw avocados and tomatoes at her residence on Wellsley Way overnight. The officer advised that a report would be made and he would follow up with her neighbors for possible leads.
A complainant called into the police department at 7:53 a.m. July 19 to report her mailbox on Murlay Drive being broken. The complainant advised that her mailbox was fine when she got home yesterday. The officer advised her that a report would be made and he would follow up with the neighbors for possible video.
An officer responded to Weathervane Way at 1:04 a.m. July 19 in reference to four juveniles knocking on doors and then leaving. Upon arrival, the officer was unable to locate the juveniles.
An officer was dispatched to East Main Street at 10:20 p.m. July 19 in reference to a driving complaint. Upon arrival, the officer was unable to locate the vehicle, which was parked at the residence. The owner was not impaired. The officer advised the driver to be more careful.
An officer responded to Scheiderer Farms/Trucking on Route 161 at 1:28 a.m. in reference to a cow versus vehicle injury crash. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash.
An officer observed a 2014 blue Honda Civic driving at a high rate of speed near the Plain City Baseball Association on North Chillicothe Street at 10:37 p.m. July 18. Aahmed Ali was subsequently charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of marijuana. He was later released to his father at the Plain City Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to West Avenue at 6:37 p.m. July 18 in reference to a civil standby. Officers stood by while the subject gathered their belongings.
A caller advised that he had received a Facebook post from a friend that was concerning at 5:23 p.m. July 18. The caller did not know who the treat was toward.
An officer responded to Perry Pike for a vehicle fire at 4:36 p.m. July 18. Station 261 extinguished the fire.
An officer responded to South Chillicothe Street at 3:33 p.m. July 18 in reference to a littering complaint. The officer made contact with the resident. The resident agreed to pick up all of the trash in the street and was warned for littering. The officer remained on scene until all the litter was picked up.
An officer responded to Route 161 at 3:11 p.m. July 18 in reference to a road hazard. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office asked for assistance to move the cement blocks from the area. The blocks were moved from the roadway.
An officer was dispatched to a suspicious white Jeep Cherokee on Country Side Road at 10:36 a.m. July 18. The officer determined everything to be normal.
An officer responded to Hawthorne Drive at 4:16 a.m. July 18 in reference to a suspicious vehicle. The officer determined everything to be O.K.
Officers responded to Lee’s Sports and Spirits on West Bigelow Avenue at 1:58 a.m. July 18 in reference to a possibly intoxicated female. Upon arrival, a large group was involved in a physical altercation in front of the listed location. While speaking to Kaitlyn McCormick, the officer observed no signs of impairment. Upon further investigation, she was placed into custody for domestic violence.
Officers responded to South Chillicothe Street at 2:46 a.m. July 18 at the request of a caller for a well-being check. The caller advised dispatched she had left the listed location due to the subject becoming verbally threatening, spitting on her and throwing beer bottles at her. The caller was advised by dispatch to return to the scene to file a report, but the caller advised she only wanted a well-being check completed and refused to fill out a report or press charges. The subject advised the caller “started the incident” and refused to press charges against the caller. The officer ensured everything was deescalated.
An officer responded to Pastime Park at 10:34 p.m. for unknown circumstances. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with Aaron Snider. Snider was charged with persistent disorderly conduct and transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
An officer responded to the south end of the Plain City Baseball Association on North Chillicothe Street at 8:37 p.m. for a 911 unknown. The officer located nothing out of the ordinary.
A juvenile at the Plain City Baseball Association at 6:45 p.m. July 17 said he was lost and could not locate his parents. While talking to the juvenile, he was able to make contact with his mother via public service. The officer then walked the juvenile back to the area his mother asked to meet. The officer then released the juvenile into the mother’s custody.
Officers were requested to assist the Union County Sheriff’s Office on Route 161 at 6:02 p.m. in reference to a possible burglary in progress.
An officer was dispatched to East Main Street at 12:52 p.m. July 17 in reference to a solicitor complaint. The caller advised the male took his door card and left, heading eastbound on East Main Street toward Dublin in a black box van. The officers checked the area but did not locate a suspect vehicle.
An officer was approached by a complainant on Pastime Street at 2:44 p.m. July 16 in reference to her runaway son. Fliers were placed on the whiteboard and at the Steam Threshers show. The missing juvenile was already reported to Madison County.
An officer was on patrol when a Union County Sheriff’s Office deputy requested assistance on Route 42 at 11:31 p.m. July 16.
An officer was dispatched to Fairfield Drive at 9:08 p.m. July 16 in reference to a harassment complaint. At approximately 9 p.m., several subjects reportedly went to the listed location to confront the complainant. The complainant contacted officers, who arrived on scene a short time later. All parties were warned for disorderly conduct and advised of the consequences if these issues continued.
An officer was dispatched to Richwood Bank on West Main Street at 8:01 p.m. July 16 in reference to three suspicious vehicles parked in the parking lot. Upon arrival, the parking lot was empty. The officer was unable to find anything suspicious.
An officer was contacted by the Plain City Public Works Department at 7:16 p.m. July 16. The complainant advised the officer that he and his crew were moving cones to re-open the roadway after the Steam Threshers parade. The complainant advised while they were picking up cones, a female subject moved their vehicle. The officer canvassed the area but was unable to locate anyone due to no suspect description.
An officer responded to North Avenue at 7:07 p.m. July 16 in reference to a 911 follow-up.
