According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer observed a male inside the Plain City Ace Hardware on West Main Street at 10:38 p.m. Aug. 2. The officer determined everything was OK.
An officer was dispatched to a report of a small goat with his head stuck under the fence at the Der Dutchman Petting Zoo on South Jefferson Avenue at 9:02 p.m. Aug. 2.
An officer was dispatched to Gay Street at 11:05 a.m. Aug. 2 in reference to a 911 follow-up.
An officer was dispatched to Carriage Drive at 10:41 a.m. Aug. 2 in reference to an unwanted guest. The complainant advised she wants the subject advised they are not to return to the property again and they should have no further contact with their daughter. The officer met with the subject at their residence. The subject was advised not to have any further contact with the daughter and not to go to her residence or he will be charged with trespassing. The subject advised he understood.
An officer was dispatched to Gay Street at Bigelow Avenue at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 2 for a semi-truck that struck the Plain City Memorial Flat Iron and left the scene. Victor Owens was later issued citations for overweight use of local streets, one way street and reasonable control.
An officer responded to Maple Court at 1:07 a.m. Aug. 2 in reference to suicide threats. After speaking with the subject, the subject agreed to be voluntarily transported to the hospital by medic to be evaluated.
Officers responded to the Plain City Public Library on West Main Street at 10:44 p.m. Aug. 2 in reference to an intoxicated male lying in the grass. The officer made contact with Daniel Romanovich, who was sitting in the grass and awake. He was charged with disorderly conduct.
An officer was dispatched to South Chillicothe Street at 12:12 p.m. Aug. 1 in reference to a driver’s license that was found. The officer took possession of the license and met with the owner.
An officer responded to Mallard Circle at 1:03 a.m. Aug. 1 at the request of the Union County Sheriff’s Office in reference to an alarm drop.
Police responded to an alarm drop at Environmental Air on West Main Street at 1:29 a.m. Aug. 1.
An officer was dispatched to Pastime Park at 9:55 a.m. Aug. 1 in reference to a 911 follow-up. The officer checked the area but did not observe anyone in distress or see anything unusual.
Officers were dispatched to South Chillicothe Street at 1:45 p.m. Aug. 1 in reference to a tree that was damaged during a storm and broke. With the assistance of the Streets Department, officers shut down South Chillicothe Street between Bigelow Avenue and Jackson Street, as well as East Bigelow between South Chillicothe Street and Church Street.
Officers were dispatched to Hundley Court at 3:21 p.m. Aug. 1 in reference to a dog bite. The officer met with the canine owner at her residence and explained the situation to her. The canine owner was apologetic and understood the canine quarantine order. The information about her canine was obtained and the animal bite form was sent to Madison County Public Health.
An anonymous caller stated that someone looked to be slumped over the wheel of a Buick at the Shell on South Jefferson Avenue at 4:37 p.m. Aug. 1.
An officer was dispatched to The Grainery on West Main Street in reference to an intoxicated person refusing to leave at 3:09 a.m. July 31. While speaking with the subject, friends arrived on scene and gave the subject a ride home. The subject was warned for disorderly conduct.
An officer was on patrol when he observed a “do not enter” sign that had been struck at the intersection of West Bigelow Avenue and Gay Street at 10:25 a.m. July 31. No one reported the accident. The Public Works Department was notified that the sign needed to be fixed.
While in the rear patio of The Grainery on West Main Street at 11:13 p.m. July 31, an officer observed David Harig stand from his seated position at the patio and attempt to use the wall and chairs around him to hold himself up. Harig would not assist in trying to get a ride home and was persistent in his actions. Harig was subsequently charged with persistent disorderly conduct while voluntarily intoxicated and taken to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
Officers responded to Main Street and Chillicothe Street at 10:04 p.m. July 31 for an unconscious person.
Officers were dispatched to Lil e’s Ice Cream on West Main Street at 9:49 p.m. July 31 in reference to a female being scared to go home. Officers spoke to the female about her options and the legality of what the suspect was doing. The female thanked the officers and returned home.
Officers were on security patrol on West Main Street when an unknown female advised officers that a woman fell behind the Plain City Services Center at 9:47 p.m. July 31. Upon arrival, officers found a female with several lacerations on the right side of her face. The female was later transported to a hospital by a medic for treatment of her injuries.
While at the Plain City Municipal Building at 8:18 p.m. July 31, an Ohio driver’s license was found at the front desk. The next day, the officer contacted the Upper Arlington Police Department to do a message delivery at the listed address to make contact with the property owner. The owner later stopped by the police department and her license was given to her.
An officer was dispatched to West First Avenue at 3:05 p.m. July 31 in reference to a vehicle that had driven through a yard. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with a resident, who advised that several of her neighbors stated that a large black truck used for the Rock the Clock event drove through her yard. No damage occurred but tire tracks were observed and were photographed.
An officer was dispatched to the area of West Bigelow Avenue and Friend Street in reference to a loose canine at 2:51 p.m. July 31. Upon arrival, the officer checked the area, but was unable to locate it. A short time later, an officer located a coyote puppy matching the description.
Police responded to an alarm drop at Environmental Air on West Main Street at 12:41 a.m. July 31.
An officer was dispatched to the Plain City Area Baseball Association on North Chillicothe Street at 12:04 a.m. July 31 in reference to a noise complaint. The caller, who wished to remain anonymous, advised an unknown campsite was playing loud music. Upon arrival, the officer was unable to locate any loud music or people.
An officer was dispatched to the rear door of the Plain City Auction House on East Main Street at 10:46 a.m. July 31 in reference to found property. The caller advised there were keys sitting on the ground. The officer tried to see if the keys would work for the listed location but they did not. They were then taken to the police department.
An officer was dispatched to Plumwood Court at 11:49 p.m. July 30 in reference to a noise complaint. The caller, who wished to remain anonymous, advised there was a loud party that was keeping them awake. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the homeowner, who advised he would end the party. The noise was lowered.
Police responded to an alarm drop at Environmental Air on West Main Street at 10:35 p.m. July 30.
An officer was met with a complainant at the police department at 8:08 p.m. July 30. The complainant advised that her husband was bothering her with his cell phone camera. He also allowed another subject to move in to their residence, against her wishes. The complainant was advised on her options with regard to him recording her. The officer also advised the only way to have the other subject removed was eviction. The complainant understood and was encouraged to contact the police department anytime she felt things were getting out of hand.
Police responded to an alarm drop on Converse Avenue at 9:42 a.m. July 30.
An officer responded to East Main Street at 2:37 a.m. July 30 in reference to suspicious circumstances.
An officer was requested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol to assist with a BAC test at the Plain City Municipal Building at 1:44 a.m. July 30.
An officer responded to Surrey Court at 8:01 p.m. July 29 in reference to a 911 follow-up.
An officer was dispatched to Bindery and Pressworks on West Bigelow Avenue at 11:48 a.m. July 29 in reference to a non-injury private property crash.
An officer was dispatched to Laguna Circle at 6:06 p.m. July 29 to assist the Union County Sheriff’s Office with an alarm drop.
An officer was on patrol when he observed three juveniles walking in front of Lil e’s Ice Cream on West Main Street at 11:41 p.m. July 29. All juveniles were given a warning for curfew and advised of the curfew laws.
An officer responded to Maple Street at 5:40 p.m. July 29 in reference to a non-injury hit skip. Basil Henderson responded back to the scene. Henderson was issued a citation for overweight use of local streets and driving on sidewalks/curbs.
An officer was dispatched to West Main Street at 8:48 p.m. July 28 in reference to questions about a protection order. The caller, Kevin Taylor, advised he had a protection order against him out of Delaware County. Taylor was then placed under arrest for violating the protection order and transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail without incident.
An officer completed a routine registration check on a silver Dodge van traveling southbound near South Jefferson Avenue at 4:30 p.m. July 28. The registration returned to Amanda Larson. Larson had two active warrants for failure to appear for traffic offenses. She was placed into custody and transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail and booked in on the listed offenses. She also received a traffic citation for no valid operator’s license.
An officer observed a silver Hyundai parked on the west parking lot of Richwood Bank on West Main Street at 2:58 a.m. July 28. The officer determined everything checked OK.
Police responded to an open door at NAPA on Village Blvd. at 2:04 p.m. July 28.
An officer responded to West Main Street at 9:05 a.m. July 27 in reference to a civil standby.
Officers were dispatched to Cooper Lane at 9:55 p.m. July 27 in reference to a suspicious person.
Officers were dispatched to South Mechanic Street at 8:04 p.m. July 27 in reference to a female being harassed by a male with a camera.
An officer was dispatched to Fairfield Drive at 5:43 p.m. July 27 in reference to questions about the eviction process.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office requested all available resources to assist them with locating a juvenile female with special needs that was missing from Mallard Circle at 11:36 a.m. July 27.
An officer was met at the Plain City Municipal Building on Village Blvd. at 3:01 p.m. July 26 by a complainant who advised a subject had asked him to sell an older sewing machine to a pawn shop for cash. The complainant suspected the sewing machine was stolen due the subject being known to steal things. The officer deemed no crime was committed.
An officer observed a low-flying small plane making what appeared to be emergency maneuvers with dark smoke coming from the plane above Converse-Huff Road at 8:52 a.m. July 26. Dispatch contacted the airport, who confirmed that the two planes in Madison County were crop dusting.
An unknown caller called 911 at 6:13 a.m. July 26 because eight to nine people were outside the caller’s window on Fairfield Drive, reportedly running around and laughing at him. Upon arrival, the officer was unable to locate anything out of the ordinary. The caller stepped out of the listed address and advised that he called. The caller was visibly upset and showed the officer “blurry pictures of flowers and (the) caller’s reflection.” The officer could not see anyone else in the pictures. The caller was upset but able to care for himself. The officer circulated the area during his shift.
Police responded to an open door at the Plain City Auction House on East Main Street at 3:02 a.m. July 26.
An officer observed a blue Honda Accord parked at the Plain City Aquatic Center on West Second Avenue on July 26. The subject stated that he was unaware that the park was closed and he would leave immediately.
Officers responded to the Old Hotel Apartment on West Main Street at 3:51 p.m. July 26 in reference to a neighbor dispute. Both neighbors were advised to avoid the dispute in the future.
An officer was dispatched to the area of West Avenue for a 911 follow-up at 2:43 p.m. July 25.
Police responded to an open door at the Plain City Presbyterian Church on East Main Street on July 25.
An officer was dispatched to the area of Church Street and Jackson Street in reference to a fireworks complaint on July 24. The officer checked the area and was unable to locate any fireworks being set off.
An officer responded to The Grainery on West Main Street at 5:24 a.m. July 24 in reference to a loud noise complaint from an anonymous caller. The employee was advised of the complaint but was not warned, due to the music not being able to be heard until the officer was at the bar.
An officer was requested on West Main Street to meet with a subject for a custody issue involving a juvenile on July 24. The juvenile went with the subject without incident.
An officer was met at the police department at 2:45 p.m. July 24 in reference to a suspicious circumstance on Cooper Lane.
Officers responded to Smucker Lane at 9:36 p.m. July 24 for a well-being check at the request of an anonymous neighbor. The officer determined everything was OK.
An officer contacted the subject via public service at 7:48 p.m. July 24 to advise him that he was being evicted from the Pastime Park campground due to recent police involvement. The subject advised that he understood and had already cleaned up his campsite. The subject advised that he lost the keys to his truck but hoped to have it removed tomorrow. The officer advised the Parks and Recreation Director of his conversation with the subject.
An officer responded to Pastime Park at 7:52 p.m. July 23 in reference to a 911 follow-up.
Officers responded to Carriage Drive at 8:56 p.m. July 23 in reference to a suspicious circumstance. The caller was worried that a medical issue had occurred with Darin Erye. Erye was subsequently issued a citation for physical control of a motor vehicle. He was released to a sober and valid driver.
An officer conducted a routine registration check on a blue Honda sedan on U.S. 42 at 6:20 p.m. July 23. The vehicle returned to Benjamin Bargar, whose license was under an OVI suspension and a non-compliance suspension. It also returned showing Bargar had an active arrest warrant out of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear in court on an OVI charge. The officer activated his overhead lights and sirens and attempted to stop the vehicle on South Jefferson Avenue, but the vehicle continued without stopping. The vehicle led the officer on a pursuit that went on West Avenue to South Chillicothe Street to Route 161 to U.S. 33 to I-270 to Route 315 before the pursuit was terminated. Multiple traffic offenses were issued for Bargar.
An officer responded to Holmes Lumber on Route 161 at 5:48 a.m. July 22 at the request of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office in reference to an alarm drop.
Officers responded to the primitive camping area at Pastime Park at 7:49 p.m. July 22. An anonymous caller advised a male that was staying at a green tent was being loud and causing a disturbance. Officers made contact with the male. Officers educated him on the open container laws and had him pour out a beverage in his possession. The subject was warned for disorderly conduct and open container.
An officer responded to the Plain City Aquatic Center on West Second Avenue in reference to a 911 follow-up at 6:50 p.m. July 22.
An officer was dispatched to Der Dutchman on South Jefferson Avenue at 5:05 p.m. in reference to a 911 follow-up.
An officer was dispatched to Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital on Gay Street at 3:55 p.m. July 22 in reference to an injured raccoon. Upon arrival, the officer learned the raccoon had a small injury to its face. However, it was “acting normal in attempting to get away from (the) officer.” The animal “did not appear to be suffering.” The kennel was opened prior to leaving, to allow the raccoon out. The caller advised she would call back if the raccoon stayed in the area and appeared distressed.
An officer was requested by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office to respond to P&G Concrete Concepts on Route 161 on July 22 in reference to an alarm drop.
An officer responded to the primitive camping area of Pastime Park at 9:30 p.m. July 22. Officers were advised by an anonymous caller that David Buoni was being loud and yelling obscenities again. Buoni was placed in custody for persistent disorderly conduct and open container. While finishing the investigation, officers observed a multi-colored marijuana pipe on a table in Buoni’s camping area. Buoni was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail and booked in on open container, persistent disorderly conduct and marijuana paraphernalia.
Police responded to an alarm drop at the Plain City Public Library on West Main Street at 2:01 a.m. July 21.
A subject came to the police department on July 21 to speak with an officer regarding an assault that occurred at Pastime Park.
The Parks and Recreation Department director notified the police department of a parking complaint at Pastime Park at 4:29 p.m. July 21. The officer arrived on scene and found the camper unoccupied. The director then notified the officer that the owner of the camper accidentally parked in the wrong campsite and she would get in contact with them.
An officer was advised of a driving complaint going northbound on Plain City-Georgesville Road and coming into town at 5:18 p.m. July 21. The officer located the vehicle at the registered owner’s listed residence. The officer advised the male of the complaint. The subject denied driving the vehicle and would not provide the officer with any other information. The officer advised the subject of his expired registration on the vehicle.
An officer responded to Lee’s Sports and Spirits on West Bigelow Avenue at 9:16 p.m. July 21 in reference to a noise complaint. Upon arrival, the officer could not hear any music. The officer spoke with the business owner and advised him of the complaint.
An officer responded to Wellsley Way at 8:03 p.m. July 21 and met with a complainant who advised she found more fruit and veggies in her yard that day. The officer advised that PCPD would conduct extra patrols in the area to attempt to catch the suspects. The officer advised the complainant to contact PCPD if she had any further information.
Officers were dispatched to East Main Street at 1:16 a.m. July 20 in reference to a female sitting in the road. The officer made contact with the juvenile and learned that she snuck out of her residence without her mother’s knowledge. The officers then made contact with the juvenile’s mother, who arrived on scene. The juvenile was released to the mother. The juvenile was charged with violating the minor’s curfew.
An officer was dispatched to Weathervane Way at 9:06 p.m. July 20 in reference to a suspicious vehicle. The officer checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicle. The officer checked other vehicles before returning to patrol.
An officer was on patrol when he observed Jennifer Dickey on West Main Street at 7:49 p.m. July 20. Dickey had an entered warrant out of the Union County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a probation violation. Dickey was placed into custody without issue. She was subsequently transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
