According to Plain City Police Department reports:
On July 31 at 4:06 p.m., an officer was dispatched to West Main Street in reference to a narcotics investigation. The anonymous complainant stated that there was a subject sitting in a blue Chevrolet car and was smoking marijuana. Upon arrival, the officer located the vehicle parked in the rear of the residence and a subject sitting inside. As the officer exited the officer’s vehicle, the officer could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana. The officer made contact with Chaz Stanely, who was sitting in the driver’s seat. Stanely stated that the only thing inside the vehicle was a small roach. The officer searched the vehicle and located a multi-colored glass pipe with marijuana residue, small roach with marijuana and a small baggie of marijuana in a Pall Mall cigarette pack. Stanely was subsequently issued a summons for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
On July 31 at 2:58 a.m., an officer was requested to the area of Plain City-Georgeville Road by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office in reference to two suspicious subjects.
A complainant in the parking lot of West Main Street who advised she gave permission to subject to ride her bicycle to Mike’s Pit Stop Aug. 1 at 10:57 p.m approached an officer. The complainant advised the officer the subject was intoxicated and was afraid she was going to get hit by a vehicle. The officer then located the subject. When driving past the subject, she was swerving while riding the bike. The officer then stopped and made contact with the subject. After speaking with the subject, the officer transported the subject back to her residence. The officer then notified the complainant, who retrieved her bicycle.
An officer was dispatched to North Avenue in reference to a possible domestic dispute Aug. 1 at 10:14 p.m. Upon arrival, the officer learned the subject was intoxicated and yelling at people. The officer then made contact with the subject. The officer stated the subject was going to bed for the night and would not cause any further disturbances.
An officer was requested by the Columbus Police Department to make contact with the subject at Plumwood Court and advise him that his stolen 2015 Volkswagen Jetta had been located and needed picked up Aug. 1 at 1:57 a.m. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the subject, who advised he would be on his way immediately to pick up the vehicle.
An officer responded to Lantern Lane in reference to a suspicious vehicle complaint Aug. 2 at 10:20 p.m. The caller stated that a white Suburban was parked in front of the listed location. The caller stated that he had not seen the vehicle in the area before and that it appeared suspicious. Upon arrival, the officer found the vehicle but was unable to locate the occupants. Dispatch located a phone number for the registered owner and a short time later the vehicle owner met the officer at his vehicle and stated that he was at a party several houses down.
An officer received a call from village administrator in reference to a semi on Maple Street at West Main Street Aug. 2 at 3:45 p.m. Upon arrival, the officer met with the driver of the semi who stated he was advised that he could move the barricade on West Main Street at Maple Street to get to Road Hogg’s storage building. The officer advised the semi driver that he wasn’t permitted to move the barricade without permission. The truck was not damaging the roadway and the village administrator allowed the semi driver to go to the business and park it. However, due to a mound of dirt, the semi driver was not able to get the tractor/trailer into the lot. The semi driver was advised that he needed to back up onto West Main Street and go in off of West Bigelow Avenue. While trying to position his vehicle, the semi made several marks in the pavement, requiring it to be fixed. The village administrator advised that he would like an incident report for documentation. The officer was able to back the semi driver onto West Main Street without incident.
An officer was dispatched to North Avenue in reference to a 911 follow-up Aug. 2 at 9:42 a.m. The caller advised that a male subject was possibly overdosing in his vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the complainant who advised the officer that a male subject was sitting in his vehicle, sweating profusely and not responding to them banging on the vehicle. He was also foaming at the mouth. The complainant also stated that the male subject walked back into the apartment prior to the officer’s arrival. The officer knocked several times on the door and was unable to get anyone to answer. The officer learned that a juvenile also resided there and spoke with him. Due to the circumstances and possible medical issue, the officer requested that the juvenile make contact with his parents. The male subject came to the door and was under the influence of an illicit narcotic. The male subject denied doing any illegal drugs but had several fresh track marks on his arms. The juvenile’s father denied any drug usage inside the residence. The officer advised the juvenile’s father to keep an eye on the male subject and if the male subject exhibited any signs of an overdose, to contact 911 immediately.
An officer was on patrol when the officer observed a vehicle parked illegally in front of Alderwood Circle Aug. 3 at 11:49 p.m. The officer observed a black 2017 Chrysler minivan parked on the south side of the roadway, which is not permitted, and in front of a fire hydrant. The officer then made contact with the vehicle owner. The vehicle owner moved the vehicle and was advised he could not park on the south part of the roadway or in front of a fire hydrant.
An officer was dispatched to South Chillicothe Street in reference to a suspicious vehicle/person Aug. 3 at 9:11 p.m. Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant who stated that he arrived home around 8 p.m. and observed a black Ford hatchback parked in the easement north of his residence. The complainant also observed a skinny male subject kneeling down in his flowerbed on the northwest corner of his residence. The complainant confronted the male who stated that he worked for Scooter Lawn Care service and had been weeding for the past four hours. The complainant told the male to leave his property and also had to jump-start the subject’s vehicle. The complainant did not want to pursue with criminal charges but wanted the male advised not to come back. At 9:31 p.m., the officer made contact with the vehicle owner and advised him of the incident. The vehicle owner advised that the subject described was his son, but hasn’t seen or heard from him since earlier in the afternoon. The vehicle owner confirmed that his son does work for Scooter’s Lawn Care. The officer requested that the vehicle owner give his son a message to contact the officer and also not to go back to the complainant’s residence. The officer will follow-up with this during the officer’s next shift.
