An officer responded to Miller’s Furniture at 4:36 a.m. Dec. 20 for a possible domestic dispute. Both parties agreed to remain calm and separate.
An officer responded to a report of an inactive dispute at Mike’s Pit Stop on West Main Street at 10:06 a.m. Dec. 20. The caller advised a verbal dispute took place a few hours earlier at the listed location. All parties were contacted and warned for disorderly conduct and were advised to not have contact with each other.
An officer responded to West Main Street at 8:03 p.m. Dec. 20 for a report of a deceased dog in the roadway.
An officer observed an interior light on in a parked vehicle on North Avenue at 11:13 p.m. Dec. 20. Contact was made with the owner, who advised it was left on by mistake and nothing was out of place.
During a traffic stop for marked lanes violation on South Jefferson Avenue at 11:45 p.m. Dec. 20, it was learned the driver, Douglas Siddons, 41, of Columbus had a confirmed warrant out of Franklin County and was placed into custody. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail. He was given a verbal warning for marked lanes violation.
Officers observed an unoccupied parked vehicle with rear taillights on at Outdoor FX on South Jefferson Avenue at 12:34 a.m. Dec. 20. Contact was made with a keyholder and officers were requested to secure the vehicle.
An officer responded to a report of a non-injury hit-skip accident on South Chillicothe Street at 10:34 a.m. Dec. 21. The caller reported an unknown vehicle struck the side of his parked vehicle, causing minor damage.
Officers responded to West Main Street at 1:22 p.m. Dec. 21 for a possible domestic dispute between family members. The parties advised they would remain calm.
An officer responded to West Main Street at 11:55 p.m. Dec. 22 for a vehicle parked in a no parking zone during a snow emergency. Contact was made with the owner, who moved the vehicle without incident.
A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for expired registration on South Chillicothe Street at 6:07 p.m. Dec. 22. During the stop, officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted and baggies with residue were found. The driver was given a warning for expired registration.
An officer responded to West Main Street at 11:34 p.m. Dec. 22 for a vehicle parked in a no parking zone during a snow emergency. Contact was made with the vehicle owner, who moved the vehicle without incident.

An officer was requested to assist the Union County Sheriff’s Office with a possible burglary on Middleburg-Plain City Road at 1:49 p.m. Dec. 23.
An officer responded to Dickens Lane at 6:56 p.m. Dec. 24 for a report of a Frontier vehicle parked in front of a residence for an hour. The caller advised he does not have Frontier. The officer advised that other residence could be working with Frontier.
An officer responded to Smucker Lane at 8:35 p.m. Dec. 24 for a maintenance issue and was able to resolve the issue.
Officers responded to North Avenue at 10:15 p.m. Dec. 24 for a possible domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend. The parties stated it was a verbal dispute and they would remain calm and separate for the evening.
Officers were requested to assist the Pleasant Valley Fire Department on gaining entry into a residence on Carriage Drive at 12:31 a.m. Dec. 24.
Officers responded to a possible behavioral health issue on Madison Way at 1:58 a.m. Dec. 25. After speaking with the individual, officers determined he was not a threat to himself or others.

Officers responded to Ratcliff Lane at 4:32 p.m. Dec. 25 for an alarm drop. Officers found the residence secured and notified the homeowner of their findings.
An officer was requested to assist the Upper Arlington Police Department with locating an individual at McDonald’s on South Jefferson Avenue at 5:28 p.m. Dec. 25.
An officer responded near Village Blvd. on U.S. 42 for a driving complaint of a vehicle unable to maintain lanes at 7:11 p.m. Dec. 25. The officer located the vehicle and did not observe any traffic violations.
An officer responded to the Plain City Public Library on West Main Street at 11:12 a.m. Dec. 26 for a theft complaint. After further investigation, officers learned a scam email was received by the business posing as an employee, requesting their bank information be changed. An investigation is ongoing.
Officers responded to Country Place Lane at 2:05 a.m. Dec. 26 for a report of suspicious circumstances. The caller reported seeing someone trying to look inside the residence. Officers canvassed but were unable to locate anything out of the ordinary.

An officer observed a trunk and rear door open on a parked vehicle on Fanshell Drive at 11:48 a.m. Dec. 28. The officer made contact with the owner, who advised it was left open by mistake and nothing was out of the ordinary.
An officer was requested to assist the Union County Sheriff’s Office with a BAC test at the Plain City Municipal Building on Village Boulevard at 6:40 p.m. Dec. 28.
An officer responded to East First Avenue at 9:24 a.m. Dec. 28 for a 911 follow-up. The officer made contact and was advised it was accidental.
An officer responded to the Plain City Municipal Building on Village Boulevard at 12:25 p.m. Dec. 29 for a report of an individual possibly being followed. After further investigation, officers learned the incident happened outside of village limits. The caller was referred to the proper agency.
An officer responded to Lantern Lane at 12:29 p.m. Dec. 30 for a 911 follow-up. The officer was advised it was accidental and everything was fine.
An officer took possession of a wallet that was found on U.S. 42 at 1:12 p.m. Dec. 30 and it was returned to the owner.

An officer observed a vehicle parked after hours at Plain City Elementary School on South Chillicothe Street at 11:11 p.m. Dec. 30. The officer made contact with two occupants and advised them they couldn’t be on the property. Both parties were warned for trespassing.
An officer took possession of a credit card that was found on West Main Street at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 30 and it was returned to the owner.
Officers responded to North Chillicothe Street at 5:58 p.m. Dec. 31 for a complaint of a juvenile impersonating an officer. Officers spoke with the juvenile and his father about the seriousness of the juvenile’s actions.
Officers responded to Noteman Road at midnight Dec. 31 for a report of an attempted theft. The homeowner confronted the subject about the theft and was assaulted by the subject. After further investigation, Christopher Kohl, 37, of Columbus was arrested and charged with theft and felonious assault. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
Officers responded to North Avenue at 1:18 a.m. Dec. 31 for a possible domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend. Both parties agreed to remain calm and separate for the evening.
An officer responded to West South Street at 11:37 a.m. Jan 1 for a possible criminal damaging complaint. The caller reported a strand of lights on her porch had been cut by her neighbor. After further investigation, it was determined the lights had been damaged by an animal. The caller was warned for disorderly conduct due to her actions towards her neighbor.
An officer responded to the North Avenue Apartments on North Avenue at 4:34 p.m. Jan. 1 for a complaint of an unknown subject littering at the listed location. After further investigation, there were no witnesses to identify the subject.
While following up on another complaint at McDonald’s on South Jefferson Avenue at 8:41 p.m. Jan. 1, officers located Robert Fike, 35, of London, who had a confirmed warrant out of Champaign County. He was placed into custody and transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
An officer responded to South Mechanic Street at 9:50 a.m. Jan. 1 for a civil matter between family members and suggested the caller contact an attorney.
An officer responded to Ferguson’s Funeral Home on East Main Street at 5:31 p.m. Jan. 2 for a report of a suicide threat. After further investigation, officers learned the individual did not harm himself and was released to a family member.
An officer was requested by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office to locate a subject at a residence on Coachman Drive at 10:09 a.m. Jan. 2, however, the subject wasn’t there.
An officer responded to Gay Street at 4:25 p.m. Jan. 2 for a complaint of a solicitor. Contact was made with the subject, who advised he worked for Verizon Wireless but didn’t have a solicitor permit. Subsequently, Justin Tempson, 27, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was issued a citation for soliciting without a permit.
An officer found a vehicle parked in a construction zone and two subjects walking in a nearby field on Slippery Rail Drive at 5:21 p.m. Jan. 2. Both parties were warned about possible consequences of being on property without permission.
