Police responded to a report of misuse of a credit card in the 1500 block of Claudia Lane at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday. The reporting person advised MPD that their credit card was fraudulently used.
According to Union County Sheriff’s Office reports:
A deputy investigated a property damage crash that occurred on U.S. 42 near Route 736 involving a 2005 Dodge Caravan that struck a deer at 7:06 a.m. Tuesday.
A deputy responded to State Road north of Long Road to investigate a property damage crash involving a 2014 Jeep Wrangler that struck a deer at 7:42 a.m. Tuesday.
A deputy was sent to the Darke County Jail to take custody of Benjamin T. Smith, 39, of Richwood for an outstanding arrest warrant at 11:54 a.m. Tuesday. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
Deputies and units from the Union Township Fire Department, the Marysville Fire Department and the Mechanicsburg Fire Department responded to the intersection of Homer Road and Route 4 for a property damage crash involving a 2006 Freightliner semi-truck that lost control and rolled over onto its side at 1:01 p.m. Tuesday. The driver, Zachary T. Bernard, 23, of Sabina was issued a traffic citation for failure to control.
A deputy was sent to the Butler County Jail to take custody of Laura L. Jones, 35, of Sabina for an outstanding arrest warrant at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. She was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence in the 12000 block of U.S. 36 to investigate unauthorized charges on the victim’s credit card at 4:29 p.m. Tuesday.
A deputy was sent to the 27000 block of Kinney Pike to take possession of a debit card that was found along the roadway at 4:58 p.m. Tuesday.
A deputy responded to the U.S. 33 exit ramp to Route 161 to investigate a property damage crash involving a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan that was struck from behind by a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox at 5:37 p.m. Tuesday. The driver of the Chevrolet, Cameron M. Howard, 22, of Dublin was issued a traffic citation for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 8600 block of Frazier Drive for a domestic dispute between a juvenile and her parents at 9:21 p.m. Tuesday. As a result of the investigation, the juvenile was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Central Ohio Youth Center.

Troopers responded to the scene of an injury crash involving Brian Johnson, 48, of Marysville and Zackary Wickham, 29, of Marysville that occurred on U.S. 33 near U.S. 42 at 7:38 a.m. Tuesday. Johnson was driving eastbound on U.S. 33 with Wickham following his vehicle. When Johnson slowed, Wickham struck the rear of his vehicle. Johnson experienced possible injuries. Wickham was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. The Jerome Township Fire Department, Washington Township Fire Department and Union County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
Troopers responded to the scene of an injury crash involving Douglas Gallant, 56, of Marion; Melisa Grose, 66, of Richwood; James Corbin, 60, of Manchester, Illinois and a hit-skip driver that occurred on Route 347 at County Road 129 at 12:29 p.m. Tuesday. Gallant was driving a 2007 Ford Focus westbound on Route 347 and had the right of way. Grose driving at 1998 Toyota Camry and was at a stop sign on Route 347, facing southbound, with the hit-skip driver behind her. Corbin was driving a 2017 Ford F-150 northbound on Route 347 and did not yield the right of way. He was struck by Gallant. After the impact, Corbin’s vehicle traveled northwest, overturned and struck Grose’s vehicle. The impact forced Grose’s vehicle into the hit-skip driver. Gallant and Grose experienced minor injuries and were treated at the scene, along with Corbin, who did not experience any apparent injuries. Corbin was cited for a stop sign violation. The Northwestern Fire District, Marysville Fire Department, Northern Union County Fire and Union County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
Troopers responded to the scene of an injury crash involving Nathalia Moreno Melo, 43, of Marysville and Clayton Traxler, 26, of Marion that occurred on U.S. 33 at 5:48 a.m. Tuesday. Moreno was driving a 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe and Traxler was driving a 2015 Dodge Ram. Both drivers were traveling westbound and attempting to merge onto U.S. 33, with Traxler following Moreno. As Moreno slowed for traffic, Traxler reportedly struck the rear of her vehicle. Moreno experienced possible injuries. Traxler was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
