Officers responded to an alarm drop on North Chillicothe Street at 10:09 p.m. July 10 and made contact with the occupant, who advised everything was fine.
Officers responded to a dispute between neighbors on Converse Avenue at 8:38 p.m. July 10. Both parties agreed to calm and to not have contact with each other for the rest of the evening.
An officer was requested by the Union County Sherriff’s Office to respond to an alarm drop on Butler Avenue at 12:20 p.m. July 10.
An officer responded to Whitman Court at 10:29 p.m. July 10 for a report of a possible scam. The caller advised she had sent $1,000 in bitcoin to a male online on June 30 as an investment. The caller stated that, after further research of the male, she believes she was scammed and wanted the incident documented.
Officers responded to North Avenue at 11:35 p.m. July 9 for a complaint of a possible trespassers. After further investigation, it was discovered that the individuals were on a different property.
An officer responded to Pioneer Pizza on North Chillicothe Street at 8:47 p.m. July 9 for a report of a hit-skip accident in front of the listed location. A witness reported seeing a red Civic back into a parked white 2022 Hyundai Palisade and leave the scene south towards Main St. The investigation is ongoing.
An officer met with a subject at the Police Department at 12:30 p.m. July 9 in reference to harassment and some other issues with another employee at their workplace. The issues were determined to be non-criminal. The officer did notify the employer in an effort to prevent the issues from escalating.
An officer responded to Whitman Court at 10:57 a.m. July 9 for a complaint of a garage door open being open for a few days, and no one being home. After further investigation the homeowner advised it was left open accidentally and requested the officer close it.
An officer responded to East First Avenue at 9:23 p.m. July 8 for a noise complaint of loud music. The officer determined the music was excessive. The owner of the business where the music was coming from was notified of the complaint and was advised to turn the music down.
An officer responded to Harrington Drive at 11:50 p.m. July 8 for a report of a found credit card and took possession of the credit card. An officer returned the card to the card holder.
An officer responded to Der Dutchman on South Jefferson Avenue at 10:06 p.m. July 8 for a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot with the headlights on. Contact was made with the occupants and with a keyholder, who advised they were OK to be on the property.
An officer responded to West Main Street at 9:55 a.m. July 8 for a 911 follow-up. The officer was advised it was accidental and everything was fine.
An officer responded to Shepper Avenue at 9:21 p.m. July 8 for a noise complaint of loud music coming from The Grainery. Upon arrival, the music had already stopped. The business owner was advised of the complaint.
Officers responded to Amity Park at 8:49 p.m. July 8 for a dispute between an employer and a former disgruntled employee. The employer requested the former employee stay off the property for the rest of the day.
An officer responded to East First Avenue at 8:29 p.m. July 8 for a noise complaint of loud music coming from The Grainery. Upon arrival, the music had already stopped. The business owner was advised of the complaint.
An officer responded to Guy Street at 7:49 p.m. July 8 for a noise complaint of loud music. The officer canvassed the area but was unable to locate loud music.
An officer responded to Madison Way at 2:17 p.m. July 8 for an alarm drop. The officer spoke with a construction worker, who advised everything was fine.
An officer responded to Plumwood Court at 1:07 p.m. July 8 for a 911 follow-up. The officer was advised it was accidental and everything was fine.
Officers responded to Pastime Park at 10:55 p.m. July 8 for a report of domestic violence between family members. After further investigation, David Lorenzo Vega, 40, of Springfield, Virginia, was arrested and charged with domestic violence. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail and the victim was transported to a nearby hospital.
Officers responded to South Jefferson Avenue at midnight July 7 for a report of an injury crash near Village Blvd between two vehicles. A Ford Mustang was rear ended by a Honda CRV when the mustang slowed to make a left-hand turn and the CRV failed to stop. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. Parties were treated at the scene. The driver of the CRV, Zane Richendollar, 24, of Springfield, was issued a citation for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
An officer attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle unable to maintain lanes on South Chillicothe Street at 2:15 a.m. July 7. After a short pursuit, the vehicle stopped and contact was made with the driver, who had a strong odor of alcohol. Subsequently, Marcus Collins, 25, of Columbus, was arrested. Collins submitted to a BAC test, which resulted in a .135% BAC. He was charged with failure to comply, open container, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, prohibited concentration, driving without a driver’s license and marked lanes. Collins was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail and the vehicle was towed by Kirby’s to the impound lot.
An officer responded to Country Meadow Lane at 1:34 p.m. July 7 for a report of a missing adult. A short time later, the adult returned home.
While investigating an unrelated incident at Lee’s Sports and Spirits on West Bigelow Avenue at midnight July 6, Nathan Scally, 20, of Plain City, was arrested and charged with underage consumption and obstructing official business. He was released to a family member.
An officer was requested by the Union County Sheriff’s Office to assist with an alarm drop on Corporate Boulevard at 1:01 a.m. July 6. Once the officer’s assistance was no longer needed, he returned to patrol.
An officer responded to Converse Avenue at 12:03 p.m. July 6 for a juvenile complaint regarding a juvenile leaving the house without permission. The caller advised she didn’t want charges filed but wanted the incident documented. An incident report was taken.
An officer observed a large section of a tree blocking the roadway on Maple Court at 1:12 p.m. July 6. The officer contacted the Public Works Department, who arrived on scene a few minutes later and removed the tree from the roadway.
An officer responded to Hawthorne Drive at 2:44 p.m. July 6 for a general motion alarm drop. The officer observed a canine inside the home and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. The officer attempted to make contact with the homeowner but was unsuccessful and a message was left.
An officer responded to Warbler Lane at 9:14 p.m. July 6 in reference to a mental health crisis and possible threats being made toward an ex-spouse. It was determined that the suspect and ex-spouse were both in another jurisdiction and that jurisdiction was notified.
An officer responded to Miller’s Furniture on South Jefferson Avenue at 5:51 a.m. July 5 for an alarm drop. The officer made contact with an employee, who advised it was accidental.
An officer was requested to deliver a message to an individual on East First Avenue at 1:56 p.m. July 5. However, the officer was unable to do so. An additional attempt will be made at a later time.
An officer responded to Shell/Plain City Village Mart on South Jefferson Avenue at 6:15 p.m. July 5 for a non-injury crash on private property. A report was taken.
An officer arrested Areca McCoy, 35, of Plain City, who had a confirmed active warrant out of Madison County on Maple Street at 7:32 p.m. July 5. She was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
Officers responded to Mike’s Pit Stop on West Main Street at 8:16 p.m. July 5 for a possible dispute. The officer made contact with the business owner, who stated it was a verbal dispute with an unknown subject who had already left the location. The owner didn’t want officers to attempt to locate the subject. The officers advised if it happened again to contact the police department.
An officer responded to Warbler Lane at 10:44 p.m. July 4 for a report of fireworks. Once in the area, the officer did not hear or observe any fireworks.
An officer responded to Pastime Park at 10:04 p.m. July 4 a complaint of someone throwing fireworks at children. Upon further investigation, a subject was setting fireworks off at a campsite but denied throwing them at anyone. The subject was given a verbal warning for disorderly conduct and lighting off fireworks in the village limits.
An officer responded to the Plain City Area Baseball Association on North Chillicothe Street at 7:17 p.m. July 4 for a report of a found wallet. The officer took possession of the wallet. Contact was made with the owner of the wallet, who later came to the police department and retrieved it.
An officer responded to Harrington Drive at 6:09 p.m. July 4 for a report of an attempted suicide. The patient was transported to a medical facility.
A found cellphone was turned into an officer at 10:10 a.m. July 4. A short time later, the owner of the phone met with the officer and the phone was returned to the owner.
An officer responded to St. Joseph’s Parish Activity Center on West Main Street at 2:47 a.m. July 4 for a metal box with a red light flashing. A keyholder was contacted and advised it was a private septic system and stated he would deal with it the next day.
An officer responded to Pastime Park at 10:56 p.m. July 4 for a driving complaint regarding a known suspect driving a red truck and throwing firecrackers from the moving vehicle, which hit another vehicle. Both vehicles had left the area before the officer arrived. The officer made contact with the subject and a verbal warning was given for fireworks and possible charges if damage was done to the other vehicle.
An officer was requested by the Union County Sheriff’s Office to assist with translation during an investigation interview at 4:48 p.m. July 3.
An officer responded to Gay Street at 11:30 p.m. July 3 for a complaint of loud music. Upon arrival, the officer could hear the music and made contact with the homeowner, who advised she would turn the music off.
An officer responded to the Plain City Municipal Building on Village Boulevard at 6:35 p.m. July 3 for a complaint of child custody issues. The officer advised it was a civil matter and an incident report was taken.
An officer responded to Shell/Plain City Village Mart on South Jefferson Avenue at 1:17 p.m. July 3 for a report of a found credit card. The officer took possession of the credit card and contacted the owner. The owner of the credit card requested the officer shred the card.
An officer responded to Gay Street at 12:26 p.m. July 3 for a complaint of a stolen grey and red Craftsman lawn mower. A report was taken.
Officers responded to the North Avenue Apartments on North Avenue at 10:53 p.m. July 3 for a complaint of a neighbor dispute. All parties agreed to separate for the evening.
An officer responded to Jackson Boulevard at 10:28 p.m. July 3 for a complaint of fireworks. Upon arrival, the officer located the person setting off the fireworks and he was given a verbal warning for fireworks inside the village limits.
An officer responded to the Plain City Municipal Building on Village Boulevard at 12:41 p.m. July 2 in reference to a found canine, and took possession of it. A short time later, the owner came to the police station to retrieve the canine and was verbally warned for dogs running at large.
Officers responded to a male who was intoxicated and laying in the grass on Smucker Lane at 1:25 a.m. July 2. Upon arrival, officers found a male subject in the grass and could detect a strong odor of alcohol. Subsequently, officers transported the male to his residence, where he was released to a family member. Andrew Dewitt, 40, of Plain City, was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.
Officers responded to The Grainery on West Main Street at 7:40 p.m. July 1 for a complaint of loud music. The business was notified of the complaint and turned down the music. Officers determined the noise was not excessive.
An officer responded to Red Knot Court at 10:45 p.m. July 1 for a report of fireworks. Once in the area, the officer did not hear or observe any fireworks.
A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle with a suspended driver at Miller’s Furniture on South Jefferson Avenue at 8:14 p.m. July 1. Subsequently, Gary Thomas, 65, of Plain City, was issued citations for operating a vehicle while intoxicated suspension and no valid operator’s license and the vehicle was towed to the PCPD Impound lot.
Officer responded to the Plain City Aquatic Center on West Second Avenue at 2:35 p.m. June 30 for a complaint of a pipe for smoking marijuana that was found. An employee stated that no one saw anyone drop it. The officer took possession of the item so that it could be destroyed.
An officer responded to Pastime Park at 6:17 p.m. June 30 for a disabled vehicle. The officer assisted the motorist until the vehicle was loaded onto a trailer.
An officer responded to West Main Street at 6:17 p.m. June 30 for an alarm drop. The officer made contact with an employee, who advised they were testing the system.
An officer responded to Miller’s Furniture on South Jefferson Avenue at 6:39 p.m. June 30 for an alarm drop. A keyholder was contacted and advised it was accidental.

An officer responded to a dispute between neighbors on Smucker Lane at 8:05 a.m. June 28. All parties were advised to remain calm.
An officer responded to Pleasant Valley Joint Fire District on West Main Street at 1:47 p.m. June 28 for a suspicious person. After further investigation, the person had left the area.
An officer responded to Warrenton Drive at 2:56 p.m. June 28 for a parking complaint. The officer made contact with the owner and determined the vehicle was not a road hazard or violating any parking laws.
An officer located a female juvenile from a domestic incident from Madison County at Der Dutchman on South Jefferson Avenue at 8:26 p.m. June 28. The juvenile would not comply with the officer’s request and was resisting. Subsequently, the juvenile was charged with obstructing official business and resisting arrest. The juvenile was transported to the Central Ohio Youth Center.
An officer observed a garage door open at a residence on Country Place Lane at 12:33 a.m. June 27. The officer made contact with the resident, who advised he nothing appeared missing and secured the door.
An officer was requested to deliver a message to a resident on Lantern Lane at 10:51 a.m. June 27. The officer made contact and relayed the message.
