According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer found a phone laying in the parking lot of Der Dutchman on South Jefferson Avenue at 12:44 a.m. Jan. 3. Attempts are being made to locate the owner.
An officer responded to Richwood Bank on West Main Street at 1:27 p.m. Jan. 3 for a 911 follow-up. The officer was advised it was accidental and everything was fine.
Officers responded to West Main Street at 7:09 p.m. Jan. 3 for a disabled vehicle in the intersection with U.S. 42. The vehicle was moved off the roadway and a short time later a tow truck arrived on scene.
Officers responded to South Chillicothe Street at 8:38 p.m. Jan. 3 for a report of a possible missing juvenile. A short time later, the juvenile returned home.
There were no reports on Jan. 4.
An officer was requested to assist the Union County Sheriff’s Office with a non-injury accident on Route 161 at 5:52 p.m. Jan. 5.
An officer responded to a non-injury crash on East Main Street near Butler Avenue for a vehicle that struck a deer at 5:56 p.m. Jan. 5.
An officer responded to a non-injury crash on East Main Street between two vehicles that occurred at 6:22 p.m. Jan. 5. The Ohio State Highway Patrol arrived on scene and handled the crash.
Officers were requested to assist the Union County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop on U.S. 42 at 11:55 p.m. Jan. 5.
An officer assisted the Union County Sheriff’s Office with a domestic dispute on Westwood Drive at 11:20 p.m. Jan. 6.
An officer assisted the Union County Sheriff’s Office with an injury accident on Crottinger Road at 5:56 p.m. Jan. 6.
An officer responded to U.S. 42 at 2:19 p.m. Jan. 6 for a driving complaint regarding a vehicle unable to maintain lanes. The officer located the vehicle and advised the driver of the complaint. After speaking with the driver, it was determined there were no signs of impairment.
An officer responded to Friend Street at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 6 for a parking complaint regarding an unknown trailer being parked in the backyard. The owner of the trailer was contacted and moved it without incident.
An officer assisted the Union County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop on U.S. 42 at 3:46 p.m. Jan. 7.
An officer responded to Gray Street at 1:57 p.m. Jan. 7 for a report of downed wires in the roadway. The Pleasant Valley Fire District arrived on scene and resolved the issue.
An officer responded to Harrington Drive at 8:55 a.m. Jan. 7 for a parking complaint regarding a vehicle blocking a mailbox. Upon arrival, it was determined the mailbox was not blocked and no laws were being violated. The vehicle owner was advised of the complaint, moved the vehicle and was warned for disorderly conduct due to her behavior.
Officer found an exterior light on a parked vehicle at Pioneer Roofing on Maple Street at 1:08 a.m. Jan. 8. The officer checked the vehicle and surrounding area and did not find anything out of the ordinary.
An officer responded to Richwood Bank on West Main Street at 8 a.m. Jan. 8 for a report of possible forged checks being deposited. An investigation is ongoing.
An officer responded to a report of an unoccupied vehicle off the road in the area of North Chillicothe Street near U.S. 42 at 9 a.m. Jan. 8. A vehicle was found nose down in a ditch with the driver’s side airbag deployed. After further investigation, Shae Cook, 30, of Plain City was cited for failure to control, stopping after an accident and full time and attention.
Two dogs were found and brought to the police department at 6:32 p.m. Jan. 8. A short time later, the owner was found and the dogs were returned to the owner.
An officer observed a vehicle parked in the Der Dutchman parking lot on South Jefferson Avenue at 8:18 p.m. Jan. 8, after hours. Contact was made with the occupants, who were advised they couldn’t be on the property and left without incident.
Officers responded to Carriage Drive at 5:35 a.m. Jan. 9 for a 911 follow-up. The officers made contact and were advised it was accidental.
An officer responded to North Chillicothe Street at 10:23 a.m. Jan. 9 for a dispute between family members surrounding property. The parties agreed the property would be returned to the owner this week.
An officer assisted the Union County Sheriff’s Office with an arrest warrant at the Pleasant Valley Fire District on West Main Street at 12:53 p.m. Jan. 9.
An officer responded to Richwood Bank on West Main Street at 6:11 p.m. Jan. 9 for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot. Contact was made with the occupant, who advised he using his phone.
Officers responded to North Avenue at 10:25 p.m. Jan. 9 for a complaint of loud music. The resident was notified of the complaint and turned down the music.
Officers responded to Plain City Presbyterian Church on East Main Street at 10:31 p.m. Jan. 9 for a report of an unlocked door and lights on. The building was searched and nothing out of the ordinary was found. The information was relayed to a keyholder.
