Police responded to a report of a suspicious male at the Marathon on West Main Street at 8:59 a.m. Jan. 11. The officer canvassed the area but did not locate anyone matching the description given.
An officer responded to North Avenue at 11:17 a.m. Jan. 10 for a report of possible identity theft. After further investigation, the officer learned that the incident occurred in a different jurisdiction and the caller was referred to the appropriate agency.
An officer responded to Smucker Insurance on North Chillicothe Street at 2:25 p.m. Jan. 10 for a 911 follow-up. The officer made contact and was advised it was accidental.
An officer responded to Slippery Rail Drive at 3:14 p.m. Jan. 10 for a report of a solicitor. The officer canvassed the area but was unable to locate anyone matching the description given.
An officer responded to Cooper Lane at 4:56 p.m. Jan. 10 for a well-being check. The officer made contact and advised everything was fine.
An officer responded to the Plain City Municipal Building on Village Boulevard at 5:07 p.m. Jan. 10 for a report of telecommunication harassment that occurred in another jurisdiction and referred the caller to the appropriate agency.
An officer responded to Civista Bank on South Jefferson Avenue at 2:09 p.m. Jan. 9 for a report of possible forgery. An investigation is ongoing.
An officer took a report of a possible theft on North Chillicothe Street at 2:50 p.m. Jan. 9. An investigation is ongoing.
An officer assisted the Union County Sheriff’s Office in locating a missing person on Hinton Mill Road at 8 p.m. Jan. 9.
Officers responded to West Main Street at 9:57 a.m. Jan. 8 for a non-injury crash. Subsequently, Laprece Askew, 32, of Columbus, was issued a citation for reasonable control.
Officers arrested Deshawn Dorelien, 23, of Columbus, on a confirmed warrant out of Upper Arlington on West Main Street at 9:57 a.m. Jan. 8. He was released to a Upper Arlington Police Department officer.
An officer responded to Church Street at 7:52 p.m. Jan. 7 for a report of a possible domestic dispute. All parties stated it was verbal and they would remain calm.
An officer responded to South Chillicothe Street at 11:46 p.m. Jan. 6 for a report of a vehicle parked in a driveway with its headlights left on. Contact was made with the owner, who advised he was working on the vehicle.
An officer observed a vehicle parked at Civista Bank on South Jefferson Avenue at 12:18 a.m. Jan. 5, after hours. The officer made contact and was advised the individual was looking for her dog that escaped.
An officer responded to Plain City-Georgesville Road at 3:53 a.m. Jan. 5 for a report of a disabled vehicle. The officer made contact with the owner and was advised the vehicle would be moved.
An officer responded to Fairfield Drive at 10:40 a.m. Jan. 5 for a complaint of an unemployment scam. The caller advised someone filed a claim in their name. She advised she has already contacted the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. An incident report was taken.
An officer assisted the Union County Sheriff’s Office with an alarm drop at ABC Supply on Industrial Parkway at 6:27 p.m. Jan. 5.
A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for squealing the tires on Perry Pike at 9:13 p.m. Jan. 5. After further investigation, the officer learned that the registration on the vehicle did not match and it had expired tags. Subsequently, Eli Webb, 20, of Grove City, was issued citations for squeal and peel, expired tags and fictitious plates. The vehicle was towed to the PCPD Impound Lot.
An officer responded to Der Dutchman on South Jefferson Avenue at 9:38 p.m. Jan. 5 for a report of possible vandalism. An investigation is ongoing.
Officers responded to West Avenue at 12:59 a.m. Jan. 4 for a report of a possible prowler. The officer canvassed the area but did not locate anyone or anything out of the ordinary.
An officer assisted the Union County Sheriff’s Office with translation during a traffic stop on Industrial Parkway at 9:50 a.m. Jan. 4.
An officer responded to Madison Way at 10:46 a.m. Jan. 4 for a report of a non-injury crash. Subsequently, Marie McKnight, 42, of Plain City, was issued a citation for failure to control.
An officer responded to Lantern Lane at 2:36 p.m. Jan. 4 for a driving complaint regarding a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed. The officer canvassed the area but did not locate a vehicle matching the description given.
An officer responded to Country View Lane at 2:49 p.m. Jan. 4 for a report of a theft of gift cards. The caller reported she already filed a report with the FTC and wanted the incident documented.
Officers assisted Madison County Sheriff’s Office with a driving complaint on U.S. 42 at 6:20 p.m. Jan. 4.
An officer took possession of a found wallet at Plain City Elementary School on South Chillicothe Street at 6:45 p.m. Jan. 4 and returned it to the owner.
