According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer responded to Maple Court at 5:40 p.m. Jan. 16 for a report of downed wires and stood by until the Pleasant Valley Fire District resolved the issue.
Officers responded to Maple Court at 8:34 p.m. Jan. 16 for a report of a man and woman arguing. Officers canvassed the area but were unable to find anyone in distress.
Officer responded to Maple Street at 3:24 p.m. Jan. 15 for a 911 follow-up. The officer was advised it was accidental and everything was fine.
An officer found a loose canine in the area of Noteman Road near North Chillicothe Street at 5:28 p.m. Jan. 15. The officer took possession of the canine and returned the canine to the owner. The owner was given a warning for dogs at large.
Officers arrested Michael Holden, 37, of Plain City on several confirmed warrants out of the Hilliard Police Department at 10:15 p.m. Jan. 15. Holden was released to a Hilliard Police Department officer.
An officer observed a vehicle parked in a no parking zone on Lantern Lane at 4:36 p.m. Jan. 14. Contact was made with the vehicle owner, who was advised he couldn’t park there and the car needed to be moved.
An officer was requested to assist the Madison County Sheriff’s Office with a mental health crisis on Carters Mill Road at 7:40 p.m. Jan. 14.
During a traffic stop on U.S. 42, the driver, Daryl Garnes, 37, of Columbus was arrested on a confirmed arrest warrant out of the Columbus Police Department at 12:49 a.m. Jan. 13. Garnes was issued traffic citations for no driver’s license, failure to reinstate, license forfeiture and non-compliance. He was released to a Columbus Police Department officer. A passenger in the vehicle, James Varney, 33, of Columbus was arrested on a confirmed arrest warrant out of Fayette County and was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail. The vehicle owner was issued a verbal warning for expired registration and was released.
An officer responded to North Avenue at 10:18 p.m. Jan. 13 for a complaint of possible telecommunication harassment regarding unwanted messages from two known subjects. The officer contacted the subjects and they were given a verbal warning for telecommunication harassment.
An officer found a door propped open at Pioneer Pizza on North Chillicothe Street after hours at 1:59 a.m. Jan. 12. The officer searched the building and found nothing out of the ordinary. A note was left and the door secured.
An officer responded to West South Street at midnight Jan. 11 for a report of a suspicious person in the area. The officer canvassed the area but did not find anything out of the ordinary.
An officer found a garage door open on Bluestem Lane at 2:16 a.m. Jan. 11. Contact was made with the resident, who advised it was left open by mistake.
An officer responded to Edgewater Place Assisted Living on Lafayette-Plain City Road at 1:05 p.m. Jan. 11 for a 911 follow-up. The officer made contact and was advised everything was fine.
An officer stopped a vehicle for one headlight on South Chillicothe Street at 7:18 p.m. Jan. 11. Caleb Simmons, 23, of Galloway was issued a citation for one headlight and criminal summons for possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia.
Officers responded to East West Avenue at 9:41 p.m. Jan. 11 for a well-being check. The officer made contact and was advised everything was fine.
