According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer observed a vehicle leaving ER Autocare on South Jefferson Avenue after hours at 1:25 a.m. Nov. 7. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver advised he works for the business. The driver was given a verbal warning for speed.
An officer responded to Shell/Plain City Village Mark on South Jefferson Avenue at 10:24 a.m. Nov. 7 for a complaint of a vehicle parked in the parking lot for several minutes. Contact was made with the occupants and they advised they were just talking. The vehicle left the location.
An officer was requested to assist the Union County Sheriff’s Office with an alarm drop at Darby Grace Church on Lafayette-Plain City Road at 11:02 a.m. Nov. 6.
An officer responded to Marathon/GB Power LLC on West Main Street at 11:39 a.m. Nov. 6 for a 911 follow-up. The officer was unable to locate the individual, canvassed the area and found nothing out of the ordinary.
An officer responded to Shepper Avenue at 11:52 a.m. Nov. 6 for a 911 follow-up. The officer was advised everything was fine and it was accidental.
An officer was requested to assist the Union County Sheriff’s Office with translation during a traffic stop on U.S. 42 at 2:44 p.m. Nov. 6.
Officers responded to Marathon/GB Power LLC on West Main Street at 3:35 p.m. Nov. 6 for a complaint regarding a subject making a scene and recording inside the business. The subject left prior to the officers’ arrival. Per the business’ request, the subject was contacted and was verbally warned for trespassing.
Officers responded to Marathon/GB Power LLC on West Main Street at 7:49 p.m. Nov. 6 for a report of a possible argument between multiple people. After further investigation, there was no argument that had taken place.
Officers responded to Lee’s Sports and Spirits on West Bigelow Avenue at 2:32 a.m. Nov. 5 for a report of a fight. After further investigation, Joseph Maynard, 46, of Milford Center was charged with persistent disorderly conduct.
An officer was requested to assist the Union County Sheriff’s Office with an alarm drop at Beer Barrel on Route 161 at 8:02 a.m. Nov. 5.
Officers responded to U.S. 42 at 2:48 p.m. Nov. 5 for a driving complaint of a vehicle unable to maintain lanes. The officers made contact with the driver and determined she showed no signs of impairment.
Officers observed a vehicle parked in a no parking zone on Carriage Drive at 7:39 p.m. Nov. 22. Contact was made with the vehicle owner, who moved the vehicle without incident.
Officers responded to New Life Baptist Church on West Main Street at 10:08 p.m. Nov. 5 for a report of a theft in progress. Upon arrival, officers found two females loading several items into a van. Subsequently, Devin Harry, 28, of Mechanicsburg was arrested and charged with theft, breaking and entering, criminal damaging and open container, and Hali Layne, 27, of Delaware was arrested and charged with theft, breaking and entering and criminal damaging. Both were transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
An officer observed a vehicle parked in a no parking zone on North Chillicothe Street at 5:17 p.m. Nov. 4. Contact was made with the vehicle owner, who moved the vehicle without incident.
During a traffic stop on Route 161 at 6:08 p.m. Nov. 4, it was learned that the driver, Gage Weber, 21, of London had a confirmed warrant out of Champaign County and was placed into custody. Weber was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
During a traffic stop on Route 161 at 7:46 p.m. Nov. 4, it was learned that the driver, Jason Candel, 43, of Bucyrus had a confirmed warrant out of Crawford County and was placed into custody. Candel was also issued a traffic citation for no valid operator’s license and child support suspension.
An officer observed an individual possibly experiencing a medical episode and stood by until Medic 261 arrived on scene on U.S. 42 at 12:24 p.m. Nov. 3.
An officer observed a Kawasaki ZX600 parked at Shell/Plain City Village Mart on South Jefferson Avenue at 5:21 p.m. Nov. 3. The motorcycle had moderate damage to it and the registration expired, with no one around it. A short time later, contact was made with the owner and he was advised it needed removed from the property and he could not drive it on a public roadway until it was properly registered.
An officer responded to Cottonwood Court at 1:46 a.m. Nov. 2 for a complaint of a piece of mail received that appeared to have been opened. The caller also reported the piece of mail did not belong to him. The caller was advised to return the piece of mail to the Post Office.
An officer found a door unsecure at McDonald’s on South Jefferson Avenue at 2:27 a.m. Nov. 2 after hours, searched the building and found nothing out of the ordinary. A note was left and the door was secured.
Officers were requested to assist the Madison County Sheriff’s Office with a possible theft in progress at Smoking Aces Armory on Route 161 at 7:59 a.m. Nov. 2.
An officer responded to Der Dutchman on South Jefferson Avenue at 12:38 p.m. Nov. 2 for a 911 follow-up. The officer was advised everything was fine and it was accidental.
An officer observed a subject walking behind Plain City Elementary School on South Chillicothe Street at 10:53 p.m. Nov. 2. The officer made contact and was advised the subject was out for a walk. The subject was advised he couldn’t be on the property after hours and was given a verbal warning for trespassing.
An officer found a door unsecure at Oudoor FX on South Jefferson Avenue at 3:13 a.m. Nov. 1. The officer searched the building and found nothing out of the ordinary. A note was left and the door was secured.
An officer was requested to assist the Union County Sheriff’s Office with translation during a traffic stop on U.S. 33 at 12:01 p.m. Nov. 1.
An officer took possession of a found credit card at Plain City Barbell on South Jefferson Avenue at 1:06 p.m. Nov. 1. Attempts are being made to return it to the owner.
An officer responded to Fairfield Drive at 3:04 p.m. Nov. 1 for a well-being check and was advised everything was fine.
