An officer found an empty backpack at the Plain City Municipal Building on Village Boulevard at 1 p.m. May 29 and took possession of it.
An officer found a tote in the roadway on West Main Street at 9:11 a.m. May 29 and took possession and returned it to the owner.
An officer responded to Converse Avenue at 7:01 p.m. May 29 for a 911 follow-up. The officer made contact and was advised it was accidental.
An officer took possession of two canines on East Main Street at 11:56 p.m. May 28 and transported them back to the department. A short time later, contact was made with the owner, who retrieved the canines and was given a verbal warning for dogs at large.
An officer assisted the Logan County Sheriff’s Office with a barricade situation on North Oak Street at 6:19 p.m. May 28.
An officer observed a vehicle in a no parking zone on Bluestem Lane at 5:08 p.m. May 28. The officer made contact with the owner and the vehicle was moved.
An officer responded to Murlay Drive at 9:44 a.m. May 27 for a possible vandalism complaint involving a mailbox. An investigation is ongoing.
An officer responded to Plain City Elementary School on South Chillicothe Street at 7:28 p.m. May 27 for a report of an open window. The officer made contact with a keyholder, who arrived on scene and secured the window.
An officer responded to Madison Way at 6:53 p.m. May 27 for a possible solicitor. The caller reported that earlier in the day a door placard was left on his porch. The officer contacted the company and advised them of Plain City’s no solicitation ordinance.
Officers responded to Plain City Elementary School on South Chillicothe Street at 4:49 p.m. May 27 for a report of two suspicious males approaching juveniles. Officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the males or the juveniles.
An officer responded to Country Place Lane at noon May 27 for a possible scam complaint. An investigation is ongoing.
An officer responded to ER Autocare on South Jefferson Avenue at 7:56 a.m. May 27 for an alarm drop and found the building secured. A keyholder was contacted and declined to respond.
An officer responded to Lantern Lane at 2:34 a.m. May 27 for a car alarm going off. The officer made contact with the vehicle owner, who stated nothing appeared disturbed. The officer canvassed the area and found nothing out of the ordinary.
An officer responded to North Avenue at 3:30 p.m. May 27 for a 911 follow-up. The officer made contact and was advised it was accidental.
An officer responded to South Jefferson Avenue at 10:09 a.m. May 26 for a report of glass in the roadway. A short time later, staff from the Public Works Department arrived on scene and cleaned up the glass.
An officer assisted the Union County Sheriff’s Office with a driving complaint on U.S. 42 at 10:17 p.m. May 26.
An officer responded to The Grainery on West Main Street at 10:08 p.m. May 26 for a complaint of loud music and determined the music was not excessive. The business was notified of the complaint.
An officer observed a vehicle in a no parking zone on Bluestem Lane at 8:33 p.m. May 26. The officer made contact with the owner and the vehicle was moved.
An officer responded to Pastime Park on North Chillicothe Street at 7:52 p.m. May 26 for a 911 follow-up. The officer made contact and was advised it was accidental.
An officer responded to North Chillicothe Street at 4:11 p.m. May 26 for a non-injury crash between two vehicles. Subsequently, Shada Grant, 24, of Columbus was issued a citation for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
An officer responded to Maple Street at 12:01 p.m. May 26 for a report of a known male approaching the caller and making her feel uncomfortable. The male was advised to stay away from the caller.
An officer assisted the Union County Sheriff’s Office with a deceased coyote on U.S. 42 at 10:27 a.m. May 26.
A traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle for not using a turn signal on Carriage Drive at 1:54 a.m. May 25. During the stop, K9 Andor completed an open-air sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive alert for narcotics. A probable cause search was completed, however, no narcotics were found. The driver was given a warning for no turn signal.
An officer assisted the Union County Sheriff’s Office with a dispute at Tim Horton’s on Route 161 at 11:58 a.m. May 25.
An officer responded to Maple Street Apartments on Maple Street at 2:53 p.m. May 25 for a 911 follow-up. The officer made contact and was advised it was accidental.
An officer responded to South Chillicothe Street at 3:08 p.m. May 25 for a report of yard and telephone pole damage caused by an unknown vehicle. An officer canvassed the area for possible video but was unable to find anything. Frontier was notified of the pole damage.
An officer assisted the Union County Sheriff’s Office with a behavioral health incident on La Catina Circle at 11:45 p.m. May 25.
An officer responded to Murlay Drive at 8:57 p.m. May 24 for a 911 follow-up. The officer made contact and was advised it was accidental.
An officer responded to Church Street at 12:01 p.m. May 23 for a report of strange text messages that were being received. The caller advised she received strange text messages from her son and then communication stopped and she was concerned. A short time later, the son contacted the caller.
An officer responded to the Dollar General on South Jefferson Avenue at 12:33 p.m. May 23 for a 911 follow-up. The officer made contact and was advised it was accidental.
An officer responded to West Avenue at 2 p.m. May 23 for a residential lockout. With assistance from PVFD, entry was made into the residence.
An officer responded to Daily Needs Assistance on West Main Street at 5:47 p.m. May 23 for a complaint of juveniles in the building at the listed location. Contact was made with the juveniles and their parents and were advised of possible charges.
An officer responded to Mike’s Pit Stop on West Main Street at 9:37 p.m. May 23 for a trespassing complaint. The caller advised he did not want a known subject on the property. Attempts are being made to notify the subject that he is trespassed from the location.
An officer responded to the Plain City Area Baseball Association on North Chillicothe Street at 6:01 p.m. May 22 for a 911 follow-up. An officer canvassed the area and did not observe any signs of distress.
An officer responded to West Second Avenue at 1:58 p.m. May 22 for a report of damage to a residence. After further investigation, a cause was unable to be determined. The caller requested the incident be documented.
An officer responded to Der Dutchman on South Jefferson Avenue at 10:38 a.m. May 22 for a 911 follow-up. The officer canvassed the area and did not observe any signs of distress.
An officer assisted the Union County Sheriff’s Office with an alarm drop at Wendy’s on Route 161 at 2:55 a.m. May 22.
Officers were advised of a subject who had an active warrant out of Grove City at Pioneer Pizza on North Chillicothe Street at 8:36 p.m. May 22. Grove City PD was contacted and advised they would not pick up the subject. The subject was advised of the warrant and was advised it needed to be taken care of.
An officer responded to Madison Way at 3:17 p.m. May 21 for a report of a loose canine. Upon arrival, the owner had retrieved the canine. The owner was given a warning for dogs at large.
An officer was requested for a civil standby during a custody exchange at the Plain City Municipal Building on Village Boulevard at 3:04 p.m. May 21.
An officer responded to Carlisle Gifts on South Jefferson Avenue at 8:43 a.m. May 21 for an alarm drop. The officer made contact with an employee and was advised it was accidental.
