According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer observed a parked vehicle with the interior lights on and no one around at Pioneer Painting on East Main Street at 3:38 a.m. June 15. Contact was made with the owner, who advised they were left on by mistake.
An officer responded to Carriage Drive at 6:22 p.m. June 15 for a report of a juvenile driving a non-road legal ATV on the road. Contact was made with the juvenile and his parent and was warned of possible consequences.
An officer observed a parked vehicle running with the headlights on and no one around on West Main Street at 12:07 a.m. June 14. Contact was made with the owner, who advised it was left running by mistake and everything was fine.
An officer responded to North Avenue at 11:55 a.m. June 14 for a report of loud music coming from an apartment. Upon arrival, the officer could not hear any music. Contact was made with the resident and he was advised of the complaint and that the music was not excessive.
An officer responded to Willowbend Circle at 2:27 p.m. June 14 for a 911 follow-up. The officer made contact and was advised it was accidental.
An officer assisted Medic 261 with a medical alarm on East Bigelow Avenue at 2:33 p.m. June 14.
An officer responded to Mike’s Pit Stop on West Main Street at 2:41 p.m. June 14 for a report of someone possibly driving off without paying for gas. Camera footage was reviewed, however, the license plate was not captured and it could not be determined if the incident occurred.
An officer responded to Fairfield Drive at 4:30 p.m. June 14 for a well-being check. The officer made contact with a resident but was advised the individual did not live at the residence.
An officer responded to East First Avenue at 8:08 p.m. June 14 for a report of an unknown subject being on the caller’s property. The officer advised extra patrol would be provided in the area.
An officer found a garage door open at the Plain City Service Center on West Main Street at 9:17 p.m. June 14. The officer searched the building and found nothing out of the ordinary. The officer secured the garage door. A keyholder was contacted and declined to respond.
An officer responded to South Chillicothe Street at 9:19 p.m. June 14 for a report of a suspicious male in the area possibly talking to himself. An officer canvassed the area and found nothing out of the ordinary.
Officers found a door unsecure at Buckeye Brass and Winds on North Chillicothe Street at 12:27 a.m. June 13. The officers searched the building and found nothing out of the ordinary. A note was left and the door secured.
Officers responded to Richwood Bank on West Main Street at 1:43 a.m. June 13 for an alarm drop and found the building secured. A keyholder was contacted but declined to respond.
Officers observed two vehicles parked at NAPA on Village Boulevard at 2:24 a.m. June 13. The officers made contact with the occupants and advised them they couldn’t be on the property after hours.
An officer responded to Pastime Park on North Chillicothe Street at 2:59 p.m. June 13 for an alleged sexual assault that occurred on a prior date. An investigation is ongoing.
An officer responded to Country Side Road at 4:05 p.m. June 13 for a report of unauthorized charges on a credit card by an unknown subject. The caller advised he is already working with the credit card company but wanted the incident documented. An incident report was taken.
Officers responded to the North Avenue Apartments on North Avenue at 8:06 p.m. June 13 for a neighbor dispute. Parties were advised to remain civil, stay away from each other and were warned for disorderly conduct.
An officer observed a vehicle parked in a no parking zone on Lantern Lane at 6:46 p.m. June 12. The officer made contact with the owner and the vehicle was moved.
An officer responded to South Chillicothe Street at 4:41 p.m. June 12 for a 911 follow-up. The officer made contact and was advised it was accidental.
An officer responded to U.S. 42 at 2:06 p.m. June 12 for a driving complaint in the area near Alcott Drive. The officer searched the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.
An officer took possession of a found wallet at the Plain City Municipal Building on Village Boulevard at 6:48 p.m. June 12. Attempts are being made to return it to the owner.
Officers responded to North Avenue at 7:38 p.m. June 11 for a neighbor dispute and advised all parties to remain civil, calm and to separate.
An officer responded to Plain City Ace Hardware on West Main Street at 8:01 a.m. June 11 for a report of a possible disabled vehicle. Contact was made with the occupant, who advised he pulled over to rest.
An officer responded to West Avenue at midnight June 11 for a report of a custody issue. The officer advised parties this was a civil matter and to contact an attorney.
An officer responded to Lee’s Sports and Spirits on West Bigelow Avenue at 5:27 p.m. June 10 for a report of a possible assault. An investigation is ongoing.
An officer responded to Hydro Spray Car Wash on Village Boulevard at 6:06 p.m. June 10 for a report of a non-injury private property hit-skip accident in which pieces of equipment were damaged. An investigation is ongoing.
An officer was advised of downed wires on North Avenue caused by a semi-truck at 3:35 p.m. June 10. The semi-truck was located on North Chillicothe Street. A traffic stop was initiated and subsequently, Candace Williams, whose age and city of residence are not included in the report, was issued a citation for overweight – use of local streets. Spectrum was notified of the downed wires.
Officers were requested to assist the Union County Sheriff’s Office with a hit and run accident on U.S. 42 at 3:12 p.m. June 10.
An officer responded to Der Dutchman on South Jefferson Avenue at 12:42 p.m. June 10 for a 911 follow-up. The officer made contact with several employees, who advised everything was fine.
An officer responded to the Plain City Area Baseball Association on North Chillicothe Street at 12:07 p.m. June 10 for a non-injury crash that happened on private property. The parties exchanged information and an incident report was taken.
An officer assisted the Madison County Sheriff’s Office with a BAC test at the Plain City Municipal Building on Village Boulevard at 4:19 a.m. June 10.
An officer responded to West Second Avenue at 6:35 p.m. June 10 for a 911 follow-up. The officer made contact and was advised it was accidental.
An officer observed a juvenile out past curfew on South Jefferson Avenue at 12:05 a.m. June 9. Contact was made with a parent and the juvenile was warned of possible consequences.
A traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle with several traffic violations on West Main Street at 8:59 p.m. June 9. After further investigation, officers learned the driver did not have a valid driver’s license. Subsequently, Juan Mendoza Ponce, 43, of Plain City was issued citations for signals when changing lanes and no operator’s license. The vehicle was towed to the Plain City Impound Lot by Kirby’s Towing.
An officer assisted the Union County Sheriff’s Office with a possible crash on Route 736 at 12:56 a.m. June 8.
An officer responded to Caroline Drive at 11:03 a.m. June 8 for a complaint of a solicitor. Subsequently, Kai Hogue, 20, of Draper, Utah, was issued a citation for soliciting without a permit.
An officer responded to Carlisle Gifts on South Jefferson Avenue at 8:19 p.m. June 8 for an alarm drop. The officer made contact with an employee and was advised everything was fine.
An officer observed a vehicle parked on the lot of McDonald’s on South Jefferson Avenue at 12:25 a.m. June 7, after hours. The officer made contact and confirmed it was a construction worker from a nearby construction site.
An officer responded to West South Street at 3:51 a.m. June 7 for a request for a civil standby. Upon arrival, the officer was advised everything was fine.
An officer responded to Alderwood Circle at 9:11 a.m. June 7 for a 911 follow-up. The officer made contact and was advised it was accidental.
An officer responded to Caroline Drive at 12:51 p.m. June 7 for a suspicious circumstance. The caller advised she had an individual on her property giving her a quote for outside work and felt uncomfortable. The caller requested the incident be documented.
An officer took possession of an iPhone on North Chillicothe Street at 3:04 p.m. June 7. The officer made contact with the owner and it was returned to the owner.
An officer took possession of a found capped and unused syringe at the North Avenue Apartments on North Avenue at 6:40 p.m. June 7. The officer disposed of it properly.
An officer responded to Alderwood Circle at 6:46 p.m. June 7 for a possible solicitor complaint. Contact was made with the subjects, who advised they were not selling anything. The officer advised them of the proper way to solicit within the village and gave a verbal warning for soliciting without a permit.
An officer responded to U.S. 42 at 7:59 p.m. June 7 for a disabled vehicle and stood by until a tow truck arrived on scene.
